The guided tour was very informative, giving us a clear understanding of the layout of the emperors' former summer retreat. We explored every courtyard and also saw the beautiful Kunming Lake. If you want to take a boat ride on the lake, it's an additional 40 RMB. We thoroughly explored the entire Summer Palace!

Knowledgeable guide whom shared a lot of history about different parts of the summer palace. The history lessons can be a little overwhelming at times, and there are many stops along the way for these lessons. Can be better balanced for the participants to roam more freely to see more for themselves if they want. And should cater some time for photo-taking at certain stops too.
