This tour gave me a deeper understanding of Korea’s modern history and the struggles behind its journey toward democracy. Visiting places connected to these events made the stories feel more real and memorable than reading about them alone. Our guide, Gina, helped connect each stop to the wider historical picture. I appreciated how she explained a complex subject in a way that was easy to follow while still acknowledging its difficult and emotional aspects. Her explanations gave meaning to places I might otherwise have passed without a second thought. What stayed with me most was the courage of ordinary people who stood up for change during difficult times. Some moments were sobering, but they encouraged me to reflect on the history behind the Korea we see today. This was a meaningful addition to my time in Seoul, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in looking beyond the usual tourist sights. Laura has been fantastic as our guide. she’s caring, detailed and also animated at times bringing us joy during the four hours session. it’s an enjoyable as well as educational tour, we have learnt a lot on the darker side of Korean history and was inspired by the young, courageous patriots that fought hard with their lives to bring independence to Korea

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this tour. Our guide Gina, was exceptional. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very informative throughout the experience. I joined the tour alone, but I still had a great time and did not feel out of place. Learning about Korea's colonial era history was eye opening. i had a fantastic tour with Cecilia. she is highly knowledgeable and took time to answer our questions. her explanations were clear and it helped me understand the significance of the prison & deepen my knowledge of Korean history. highly recommend this for my fellow history fans!!

I had a really wonderful time with my guide for the tour, Ms Laura. I was the only one on the tour but the quality of the tour was not at all compromised. Ms Laura provided very detailed explaination of the prison and the history. In addition, she also helped to take photos at all the notable locations to help leave behind memories of the visits. The tour itself is well planned, if it is your first time, you can experience not only the prison museum but also taking the subway and the park. Laura continued to provided small little bits of info along the way, keeping the tour interesting and informative. Definitely recommend for both first timer and seasoned travellers who have yet to visit the area.

This tour is great for if you want to gain more understanding about Korea's independence movement. The things you learn from this tour can be tough to hear but it is definitely worth it to learn about. I ended up being the only person on the tour and Joon did a great job in explaining the displays and giving more information and stories than what was available to read in English. Joon was friendly and attentive and always ready to answer any questions. I gained a lot of knowledge today and had an enjoyable time during the tour. There is a very steep slope on the way to Dilkusha and might be a difficult walk for some people.

Such a good tour!! Jonathon has been a great guide. From telling you the dark history of South Korea’s military dictatorship and brutal crackdowns to what to eat at Tongin Market, this tour is nothing but amazing.

Despite the extremely hot weather, the guide explained everything so enthusiastically and did their best until the end, which was really great to see. I wanted to teach my daughter about Korea's sad history, and this was a great opportunity. I would like to express my gratitude to the guide.
