What to expect
From sea breeze and youth to the nightscape of the harbor, this is a highly complete one-day itinerary that captures the romance of Shonan and the urban atmosphere of Kanto in one go 🌊✨.
- The journey begins in Enoshima. The small island is surrounded by seawater, and walking through it, one can feel the atmosphere where myth and reality naturally intertwine ⛩️. Walking up the slope, Enoshima Shrine stands quietly, and the legends of Benzaiten and the Five-Headed Dragon add a layer of gentle and mysterious charm to the island. In front of the Money Washing Benzaiten, people always stop devoutly, hoping to take away good luck and wealth.
- Afterwards, take the Enoden train, a short but very iconic ride 🚃. The train runs along the streets and the coast, with the familiar Shonan blue outside the window, a scene repeatedly featured in anime and movies. Passing by Kamakura Koko-mae, the ding-dong sound of the railway crossing bell instantly transports one back to the youthful scene of "Slam Dunk" 🏀. Taking a photo at the intersection is not just checking in, but more like a gentle farewell to one's youth.
- Next, step into Kamakura's spiritual center—Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. The wide approach, solemn shrine buildings, and seasonal flowers and trees give it both historical depth and a sense of everyday life 🌿. Afterwards, stroll along Komachi-dori, eating and walking, allowing one to naturally blend into Kamakura's daily life.
- Arriving in Yokohama in the evening, the pace of this port city is distinctly different 🌆. The Red Brick Warehouses are particularly gentle under the sunset, and the Ferris wheel and bay night view light up the night. If you take the aerial cable car, you can overlook the city's lights and romance from above.
* As the sound of the waves fades and the lights brighten, this day leaves a just-right lingering warmth at the intersection of youth, faith, and urban scenery.

The trip was pleasent and nice. Having the trip start at 11am instead of the normal 8am for other tours is a huge plus for me as i can sleep longer. the guide “yaya” was very friendly and nice. would be even better if there’s transport between enoshima station and enoshima itself as there is some amount of walking needed. personally, i dropped off the tour at yokohama to explore it further, since it’s just a short 20 mins train trip on the tokaido line back to tokyo.
Niklaus is an excellent guide. He communicates in English and Chinese, and as a Korean, I found his English to be very fluent and easy to understand. He drives fast but safely, and the van had very comfortable seats with plenty of legroom. The tour is well-organized, including Kagoshima and Yokohama's night views. Before entering Enoshima Shrine, try the Tako Senbei (octopus cracker, about 600 yen) that the Japanese line up for. I don't think they sell it anywhere else. If you want to save time or don't want to walk uphill, you can take the paid escalator for 300 yen. The observatory is 800 yen, but I probably wouldn't go again next time, since you can see the ocean view from everywhere else. In Yokohama, be sure to visit the observatory on top of the shopping mall near the station! After sunset, enjoy the street food in Chinatown. Niklaus's driving skills and his ability to navigate the roads allowed us to arrive in Shinjuku early, and we were even able to go see the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building laser show!
Amazing Day with Peter visiting Kamakura and Yokohama. Such a fast paced day and a lot to see and do but Peter communicated all the steps and was very patient. Loved Yokohama and was well worth the night visit in the Cable Cars across the city. We are a family of 6 with 2 x mid 70 year old parents and 2 x Children.
Jack was an excellent guide throughout the Kamakura & Yokohama tour. His communication was very clear from the beginning, and he made sure all meeting points and locations were shared properly in advance, which made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. The trip has been enjoyable - you got to visit the Hachiban shrine, Enoshima, (kamakura) and Yokohama night view altogether! Our guide Shu is 100/100, he speaks multiple languages fluently and does not hesitate to tell you about JP culture while being patient at the same time. Only downside was that we came across the golden weekend in JP and it was really crowded throughout so we have to skip Enoshima tram.

We had an amazing experience with our guide, Shu! He is incredibly fun and engaging, making the whole journey enjoyable from start to finish. Shu is also very informative—he shared so much knowledge and taught us a wide range of insights into Japanese culture that we wouldn’t have discovered on our own.He is very fluent in English and Mandarin, and can also communicate in German, which made everything smooth and comfortable for our group.
