  • Multiple routes: Explore Kyoto's Amanohashidate and Ine Funaya. You can add Miyama or Tango special routes to discover unique scenery.
  • Multiple departure points: You can choose to board in Osaka or Kyoto.
  • Photography-friendly: Blue seas and sandbars, floating houses, and thatched-roof ancient villages make for easy photo opportunities, covering various elements of Japanese scenery.
  • Ine Funaya: Japan's "Venice of the Sea." You can experience it by taking a sea cruise, sailing out to sea to get a close-up view of the entire Funaya village, and even feeding seagulls. The white gulls chasing the boat create a healing and picturesque scene.
  • Amanohashidate: One of Japan's three scenic views. The classic "viewing between the legs": climb to the park's observation deck, look at the sandbar upside down between your legs, and the giant dragon appears to soar into the sky. This is a 400-year-old traditional way to enjoy the view. If you don't want to take the cable car up, you can rent a bicycle and ride, enjoying the sea breeze and pine scent, which is very pleasant.
  • Miyama Kayabuki no Sato: Kansai's Gassho-zukuri village, where about 40 traditional thatched-roof houses (Gassho-zukuri) are preserved. With thick thatched roofs and wooden walls, it has a rustic, fairy-tale feel. You must try Miyama milk ice cream/pudding, which is rich in milk flavor; check in at the red mailbox in the village for a full Japanese rural vibe.
  • Tango Train: Take the Tango Railway from Nishi-Maizuru Station to Amanohashidate Station. The train will pass over the Yura River sea bridge, allowing you to experience the same kind of over-water train sea view as in the movie "Spirited Away."

What to expect

Amanohashidate and Ine Funaya are classic routes in Kansai, but their transportation is inconvenient. Therefore, we have developed three routes that can depart from Osaka or Kyoto to meet your different needs. A. Leisure version: Slowly explore Amanohashidate + Ine Funaya. B. Miyama version: In addition to Amanohashidate + Ine Funaya, visit Miyama Thatched Village, stroll along the rural path through the thatched village streets. The old red post box is a classic photo spot. The atmosphere is full of green fields in spring and summer, red leaves in autumn, and snow scenes in winter. C. Tango Train version: The same version as popular online. The train will pass through the Yura River Marine Bridge, experiencing the same water train sea view as in the movie “Spirited Away.” Ine Funaya: Japan’s “Venice on the Water.” You can experience it by taking a sea cruise, going out to sea, admiring the panoramic view of Funaya up close, and feeding seagulls. White gulls chasing the boat create a healing and picturesque scene. Amanohashidate: One of Japan’s three most scenic views. Classic “viewing between the legs”: Ascend the park observation deck and look at the sandbar upside down between your legs. The giant dragon seems to soar into the sky, a 400-year-old traditional way to enjoy the view. If you don’t want to take the cable car up, you can rent a bicycle and ride, enjoying the sea breeze and pine fragrance, which is very pleasant. Miyama Kayabuki no Sato: Kansai’s Gassho-zukuri village, with about 40 traditional thatched-roof houses (Gassho-zukuri) preserved. The thick thatched roofs and wooden walls give it a rustic and fairy-tale feel. You must try Miyama milk ice cream / pudding, which is rich in milk flavor; check in at the red post box in the village, full of Japanese rural style. Arrange to take the Tango Railway train to Amanohashidate. The train will pass through the Yura River Marine Bridge, enjoying the same water train sea view as in “Spirited Away.” The journey takes about 40-50 minutes, and the coastal and rural scenery along the way is stunning.

Review for: Tango Railway Line · Departing from Osaka · Excluding cable car and boat tickets

The day before the tour, an email will be sent with meeting information. We met at Nihonbashi Exit 2 early in the morning, where tour guide Momo was waiting for guests with a sign. Before arriving at each attraction, the guide provided explanations in multiple languages. At Amanohashidate, we walked near the sandbar (accessible by cable car); the water was very clear, and the scenery was peaceful and beautiful. The Ine Funaya boat tour (feeding seagulls and eagles) was a special experience suitable for both adults and children, though it was a pity we could only view the boathouses from a distance on the boat. Miyama-cho's thatched-roof village was a quiet place with little else to do but appreciate the local charm. This tour involved a longer drive, making the itinerary a bit tight, but there were opportunities to rest along the way. Including a day trip by tour bus during our free time in Osaka was a truly wise decision!

The most beautiful sights ever. Our guide was informative and helpful. Even though the time was limited, we still got to stop by 3 different sights with time for lunch designated. The cable car and cruise were absolutely worth it. The views were stunning from above and the cruise ride was amazing as well! Seagull feeding was fun and snacks are included!

Nothern Kyoto is absolutely beautiful and since it’s difficult to reach by yourself, a bus tour is very convenient. it’s far away so it will take some time to get there but you’ll manage to visit three beautiful spots! something very difficult if there was no bus tour.

Fun tour with excellent tour guide. Received an email from the tour company the evening before the tour and clearly providing us the meeting point address, car plate number and tour guide name which is a big help in leading us to the meeting point. The tour guide, Takahashi Riki is very attentive in briefing us the locations and giving us kind advice on where and when to see, eat and what to buy. He even take the effort to give us tips on coming trip in Osaka areas. Definitely recommend to join this tour.

Our tour guide, Mr. Toshiki Takahashi, provided meticulous service, thumbs up 👍! For tickets, I recommend purchasing the all-inclusive package deal (ferry & cable car, includes shrimp crackers). The guide mentioned that because it's a group activity, we only purchased tickets to the meeting point initially, and there will be an additional 2200 yen charge for the fare on the bus. Regarding the itinerary, we departed promptly at 7:20, arrived at Amanohashidate at 9:30, and stayed for 2 hours until 11:30, which is sufficient if you don't eat lunch. We departed at 11:30 to Itami Shūya, took a boat at 12:30 to feed the seagulls (30 minutes), and departed at 1:00 to Miyama for about two hours, arriving at Miyama at 2:55. We gathered at 3:35 to return to Osaka. The 40 minutes to explore Miyama is a bit rushed. Those who want to stay longer (or elderly people who move slower) might want to consider this.

the bus set off quite punctually 7:23am. our driver driving skill was good, no jerking at all although the journey was very long. cable car trip was safe and cooling worth the value, on top mountain nothing much, below the Desaru restaurant food was tasty and worthy. Ine boathouse cruise seagulls feeding were fun too, some also fed the eagles 👍🏻👍🏻, could also see numerous eagles along, nvr could we see eagles so near😅. Miyama nothing much to be seen today, bc today is their festive break, in fact come during their snow season will be more beautiful

1. To be honest, when I initially purchased the tour, I saw reviews mentioning that some people didn't receive a notification email one day in advance, and others said they waited a long time at the meeting point but didn't see the tour guide. So, I was a bit worried before the trip. 2. Until the day of the trip, 2025.12.27, our tour guide was Mr. Takahashi. The check-in time was scheduled for 7:05 AM, and the guide would be shouting "Takahashi, Amanohashidate, Miyama" at Exit 2, so it was unlikely you'd miss him. 3. I knew before the trip that the journey would be long, which is why many reviews mentioned spending most of the time on the bus. If you do your research, you'll know how far these three major attractions are from Osaka city. But being on the bus wasn't bad at all; we got up early and were able to catch up on sleep. 4. The tour guide was great; he explained the attractions before we arrived and emphasized the meeting time repeatedly. At the end of the trip, he also shared his recommendations for food, based on his 20+ years of living in Osaka, as well as tourist spots to avoid being scammed by merchants. Thank you to the tour guide for leading us today! 5. For those who have never visited these three attractions, it's definitely worth adding a one-day bus tour to your independent trip. They're really beautiful and far from the city. I highly recommend spending the money to experience different scenery and relax while traveling. Note: If you are traveling alone, don't worry about feeling pressured on this trip, because your fellow travelers will become the people who take your photos. If you are lucky enough to meet Mr. Takahashi, your trip will be perfect!

Amanohashidate truly lives up to its name — “the bridge to heaven.” Stretching gracefully across the blue waters of Miyazu Bay, this 3.6-kilometer sandbar lined with thousands of pine trees feels like something out of a painting. Whether you walk, cycle, or view it from above, every angle offers a sense of calm and wonder. From the southern hill, the view from Amanohashidate View Land is breathtaking — the sandbar appears like a floating path connecting sky and sea. Locals say to look at it upside down through your legs (matanozoki) to see it as a “bridge to heaven,” and it’s easy to see why. The rotating bridge adds a charming touch, gracefully turning to let boats pass, symbolizing the gentle pace of life here. A speed boat ride beneath it adds a spark of excitement, giving a fresh perspective of the pine-covered stretch and the surrounding mountains.
