Siem Reap Kampong Phluk Floating Village Half-Day Join-in Boat Tour

We had a great time on our tour to the Floating village. Our tour guide was very informative and is from the floating village we visited. He was so patient and was able to answer any of our questions and provided a great experience given the windy weather and dry season. We enjoyed a boat tour to a floating resturant where we enjoyed some drinks and food. Thank you for showing us around Nan!

Don’t let others reviews put you off going during dry season as it was still a great experience and fascinating to see the town built on stilts. Just to be aware, lots of locals from the village including young children will come up to you asking to buy souvenirs etc. Try to plan for a good weather day so that the sunset from the floating restaurant will be nice. A good half day trip from Siem Reap, definitely add onto your itinerary :)

I was there on the dry season so we didnt have a boat tour in the village, instead we walked. but I knee that before so it wasnt a problem for me. walking was also super fun, our guide was very good, he explained everything and answered all questions. we even get to see inside the houses. then we had a small boat trip to the floating restaurant and watched the sunset there. it was a very nice trip. my only advice could be the food at the restaurant wasnt looking so good and was expensive so you might want to bring some snacks and buy your beverage there.

Our guide Nan is friendly, well spoken and gave a run down throughout the tour history of the village and how the lake ecosystem works. It's a drive out but along the way you gey to enjoy the countryside. The Kampong is a must see and I believe regardless of during dry or wet season, it presents a different experience We were there during the low and start of wet season, so we were able to walk in the village to get a glimpse of the life of the fishermen. We were also able to visit the school there while kids were having classes. One recommendation is if you are up for charitable causes, you can either buy stationeries from the peddlers there at US$5 a set of exercise books and pencils or else bring your own in advance to distribute to the kids. We also bought lollies from the village shop to distribute. It's not expensive and I think it's a cycle effect, you help the business and the kids get the delights

It was the dry season so there wasn't much water, but we still enjoyed it very much. We were able to walk around the town and see the sunset over the lake.

No one confirm me the tour pick ip time. I have waited in the lobby for 45 minutes. The tour is too rush. There is no time in visiting the village. Most of the time stat in the restaurant. It is waste of time.

It exceeded my expectations. The sunset over Tonle Sap Lake was especially breathtaking.

The guide didn’t speak much English, and the way they transported us was not safe at all. The guide did nothing to balance the boat—we almost fell into the water while he just sat there. It was very dangerous. There were no life jackets provided, and the boat driver was just a teenager, maybe 14 or 15 years old. He even hit other boats 2 or 3 times while driving.
