Siem Reap Tonle Sap Half-Day Small Group Floating Village Tour

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Floating Village Experience Booking through Klook made everything easy. The local tour operator contacted me in advance to confirm the hotel pickup and sent the pickup time early. The tour included a visit to Kampong Phluk on Tonlé Sap Lake. Our guide shared interesting stories about the village, its history, and the daily lives of the local people. It was an unforgettable experience as we had the chance to meet the villagers, interact with them, and visit a local school. The rowing boat activity was unavailable due to the low water level. However, we still enjoyed our time on Tonlé Sap Lake while waiting for the beautiful sunset. The peaceful scenery and floating houses made the visit relaxing and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Siem Reap.

Devoting a day to Tonlé Sap Lake was a huge surprise and highlight of our Siem Reap trip. In a single day, we experienced rough waters, mangrove raft rides, stilt houses on the water, a stunning sunset, and even encountered a large fish jumping out of the water – it was incredibly enriching. However, during the rainy season, boat rides can be quite bumpy, which might be challenging if you're prone to motion sickness, so be sure to bring medication. More than just a tourist spot, this place offers a chance to experience authentic local life on the water and see a different side of Cambodian culture. Our driver was excellent; he drove the car very close to the boat dock when it rained, otherwise our shoes would have gotten very muddy. The tour guide was also great, showing us the best spots for photos. On the way back, we had them drop us off directly at Pub Street, making for a very enjoyable half-day tour.

My tour guide was excellent. This time I traveled alone, and there were only four people in the group, haha. I want to say that the Cambodian people are wonderful. I will definitely come back to Siem Reap. This is a country I truly love; the people are kind, have their own beliefs, and are always friendly. It has a breathtaking history, and the people on Tonlé Sap Lake work hard to make a living. There's no forced spending. First, they take you to the ticket office, where you can look around and find shops. Later, they take you to a riverside restaurant to watch the sunset; you can choose to buy something or not. Nothing is ever forced throughout the trip. It's a fantastic country. Itinerary: Pick-up was on time. Guide: Excellent. Boat condition: Very good. Safety: Very good.

The bus arrived at the hotel to pick me up at around two o'clock. After reaching the destination, I boarded a double-decker boat. I was the only Asian in the tour group of over twenty people. The tour guide was a local who spoke English—a very kind person who shared a lot of information and even helped take photos for me, for which I am truly grateful. The itinerary was incredibly interesting, and watching the sunset at the center of the lake became one of the most unforgettable memories of my life.

A very enriching excursion to the floating village! We were able to meet the villagers and see the temple and the school. A short boat tour of the mangrove is offered for a small extra fee. We took a boat trip from the pier to the lake, passing through the floating village. The scenery is truly amazing and a must-see! It offers a different perspective of the country. I was told that I would receive detailed information about the hotel pick-up time the day before, but I didn't. It seems it was sent via WhatsApp on the morning of the tour, but I didn't see it as I had just arrived in Cambodia that day. I waited for 75 minutes in the lobby, which had no air conditioning. A concerned hotel staff member kindly spoke to me and called the tour operator. The pick-up time was supposed to be between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM, but the pick-up finally arrived at 2:45 PM. I was happy that I got to see the floating village and the sunset, which I had really wanted to see. However, we had to kill time at a restaurant until sunset, and that time felt very long. The guide explained things at the floating village, but the music and voices from the temple were so loud that I couldn't hear anything the guide was saying, even when standing right next to them. We didn't get back to the hotel until after 7:00 PM. The tour was long and tiring, but it was a good memory to see scenery that I don't usually get to see.

I was relieved that they clearly indicated the meeting time and place. The male guide also seemed to enjoy talking with us, and I liked the relaxed atmosphere. The tour content was rich, and I was able to learn about the city. Also, the male guide was from a houseboat, so he guided us on a route that other tours don't go to. Because it was a small group, all the participants talked and had a great time. Afterwards, we had a meal together, and I am grateful for the new encounter!

This tour was both simple and enlightening. Our guide Mr Nan was very prompt and maintained communication via WhatsApp shortly after we secured our reservation. The pickup was right on time, and the ride was relatively smooth, although we did encounter some bumpy stretches along the way. The transition from the minibus to the boat went off without a hitch. Compared to my last visit twelve years ago, the infrastructure improvements were remarkable. As we strolled through the village, it became clear that the locals are enjoying a better quality of life, though there’s still room for growth in terms of their income opportunities. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to catch the sunset due to heavy clouds, but that's just one of those things beyond our control. The tour exclude the small boat ride, it cost USD5.50 per person. it is an optional. Not compulsory. You can just enjoy the foods and drink at the floating restaurant.

Really nice guide. Although it is dry season now, you can take some walk in the village and then take the boat. Our guide Nan is really helpful and professional. The view on Tonle Sap is really nice, sadly the weather is not perfect for the sunset, still it is worth the trip.
