Samurai Sword Experience at Myokaku-ji Temple in Kyoto
・You will film a short movie-like video as a real samurai at Myokakuji Temple, which was founded by the order of Ashikaga Yoshihisa, the 9th Shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate and was the regular lodging of Oda Nobunaga.
・Instruction by real actors The teacher for this plan is an active actor in period dramas. After many years of training, period drama actors will demonstrate powerful sword fighting scenes.
・Sword fighting practice You will be thoroughly instructed on how to hold and position the sword, as well as the slashing techniques called Shinmuko, Kasaya, and Nukidou, and you will acquire the basics of sword fighting. In addition, you will be instructed on the movements required for sword fighting, known as Te, and will be able to perform the actual movements.
・Change into a kimono Choose your favorite kimono (hakama) and change into it. Hakama, which became popular as everyday wear for samurai during the Kamakura and Muromachi periods, was also their combat uniform, so it is easy to move in and extremely functional.
・Filming Many warlords of the Sengoku period actually stayed at Myokakuji Temple 400 years ago. We will transcend time and space and shoot videos in the exact same place where those warlords swung their swords.
・Special tour of the Myokakuji Temple main hall The main hall, which was built by order of Ashikaga Yoshihisa, the 9th Shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate, and is registered as a tangible cultural property designated by Kyoto Prefecture, is only open to the public during special viewings, but with this plan, you will be guided around in kimono all year round. (Only for the Samurai Experience & Special Tour of Myokakuji Temple Dojo Plan)
