It was easy and smooth with the online booking. Checking in at Mango hotel was convenient and a breeze. There’s amenities around. A coffee joint and some local eateries across the road. Mango hotel has a comfortable lounge to rest, washroom and restaurant to eat while waiting for your train to Sapa. The staff at the hotel counter was helpful and accompanied us to board the train when it was time. The train cabin was sizable for two. The beddings and interior were clean. Manage to catch a good night sleep. There’s water, beer, nuts and bananas provided. Hot bewerage is served at 5am, an hour before arrival. You can order additional food from the menu provided. A push cart with snacks will do their rounds too. Overall, it was a pleasant journey and a lovely experience 🤓
I feel safe and secured with the VIP cabin I chose. Me and my mom enjoyed a good night sleep while transferring to Sapa from Hanoi. Plus the personal letter was a memorable token that I had been a train passenger there. All the amenities as well were provided.
Best way to get to Lao Cai. Safe, clean and comfortable. Staffs are professional and friendly. I will definetly try again.
Totally worth the experience! mineral water, bears, snacks and some bananas was provided. We first check in at the mango hotel with the laman express signage and a lady will bring us to the back lane of the train. Journey can be bumpy and noisy and if you’re a person who is sensative to sound when sleep, do not pick this as it can be quite noisy. We were just too tired and slept until it arrive.
It was a decent amount of money, but my child was thrilled, and I actually slept quite well, so it was worth it. Arranging a two-person cabin seemed difficult as there aren't many available, but it was definitely the right choice considering I wouldn't have to worry about sharing with strangers. It came with drinks, beer (which I swapped for a Coke), and fruit. The restrooms and washbasins were also relatively clean. The other passengers around us were quiet. The air conditioning was cold, so I used the blanket provided. Also, the lights stay on constantly, so an eye mask is a must for anyone bothered by that. There don't seem to be elevators at either Lao Cai or Hanoi stations, so you'll need to be prepared to carry your luggage after arriving in Hanoi. The ticket stated it needed to be exchanged with a voucher, but when I went to the designated shop, they told me no exchange was necessary and to just go straight to the station. I was unable to use the lounge at Lao Cai station.

you can just go to Mango Hotel for the check in, it was very close to the Hanoi Station. the staff was so kind and she helped us from the mango hotel until we were in the sleeper train. the train was sooo nice and cozy. luckily it was only me and the other person so we had big space. there were some snacks and water in the cabin. I slept well, the bed was better than I thought. overall I loooove the experience

We had booked the VIP 2-bedded cabinand find the cabin neat and clean. It's more spacious than some other trains. We also appreciate the ease of checking in as we do not need to change the voucher for train tickers. There were 3 toilets, which we can access, one at the back end and 2 at the front end. The toilets were quite clean except that the back end toilet door cannot be locked properly and the furthest front end toilet bowl is flooded and be flushed off.
I made a reservation in a hurry, but the overall quality was a bit disappointing compared to other express products, but the interior condition of the room was clean and comfortable! The bedding condition was more shaky than expected, the bathroom condition, and the light bulb in the middle were a bit disappointing, but it seemed sturdy enough, and there was no bartender, and they gave me a wake-up call at 5 and sold food here and there, so overall, I was satisfied and not bad. b
