[Nagoya Fairy Tale World Shirakawa-go] Hida Takayama & Old Town Stroll & Shirakawa-go Gassho Village Day Trip (From Nagoya)

Shirakawa-go and Takayama Tour is one of the best tours you can get in Nagoya. The tour consists of going to Takayama with some guided excursions. The orientation while inside the bus with the maps provided by the guide was enough for us to be well-guided with the best places to go in Takayama and Shirakawa-go. This tour provided observation deck access, which allowed us to take pictures and buy souvenirs. The tour in Takayama is one of the best tours we had since we were able to roam freely. In Shirakawa-go, we were also able to roam freely.

Yesterday, I participated in Klook's Takayama and Shirakawa-go day tour, and the entire experience was incredibly satisfying! I especially want to commend our tour leader, Zheng Qiang, who was very professional and dedicated. Although the round-trip drive was four hours long, Zheng Qiang continuously provided explanations along the way, covering everything from the surrounding scenery and historical anecdotes to recommendations for local delicacies. His content was rich and engaging, with no dull moments. It was clear he had done his homework, and his explanations were objective and neutral, without any hard selling, which made the experience very comfortable and enriching. Thanks to his detailed introductions, the entire trip became much more meaningful. It wasn't just about visiting photo-op spots; I gained a deeper understanding of the local culture. If I join another local tour in Japan in the future, I will definitely choose Klook first and recommend it to my friends!

I like the sequence that we did the morning market/Takayama first before the Shirakawa-go. The time allotted for each destination was just right. Our guide was also very helpful. The instructions she gave enabled us to make maximum use of the allotted time. You can have a decent photo taken at the observation deck for 2000 yen. No photobomber and a panoramic view of the village behind you

I highly recommend this tour. Although the drive was a bit long, seeing the snow-covered Shirakawa-go village makes you temporarily forget the fatigue of the journey. Takayama Old Town has a lot of delicious food and many souvenirs to choose from. The itinerary is well-arranged, with an appropriate amount of time spent at each attraction. The tour guide (Jia Jia) is friendly and reminds you of and supplements travel information along the way. She recommends delicious restaurants or snacks, takes the group members to a fixed location, and reminds them of the boarding time before letting everyone explore freely. This is different from the usual guided tour, where you don't need to travel together as a group and the tour guide explains everything while leading the way. This way is more relaxed, free, and stress-free. The group members this time were also great. Everyone was very punctual when getting on and off the bus, and the itinerary was not delayed at all. It was a perfect day.

My whole family enjoyed the tour in both Takayama and Shirakawago. We were blessed with a good weather and an excellent guide and driver. Jane not only expertly shared the history of both places, and guided us on how to maximize the limited time, but adeptly organized, planned and strategized to timing for the group to get the most out of the tour. If you're traveling to Nagoya, I highly recommend this itinerary! Shirakawa-go Gassho Village is truly beautiful! Especially the Gassho Village after it has snowed, it's worth seeing at least once! The Hida beef in Takayama Old Town is also delicious! The meeting point is easy to find and very convenient! Our guide this time was Ms. Liu Mei, and she thoughtfully prepared a map in advance. She explained the overview of the attractions very carefully and also recommended many popular photo spots and meals, so that we could quickly become familiar with the attractions as soon as we arrived! She is very professional! She adjusted the itinerary for us in real-time! Making this trip very smooth! It saved us a lot of time queuing! And we had a lot of fun! The tour bus driver's driving skills are also very good! The bus was clean and tidy! When we returned to the city, our guide, Liu Mei, also enthusiastically shared many delicacies in the city and other tourist attractions in Nagoya! Next time, we will come to Nagoya to participate in other day trips recommended by guide Liu Mei! I hope to meet guide Liu Mei again to lead us!

Highly recommended tour. Takayama and Shirakawago were both worth the time (8am-6pm). These places were both charming, rich in culture and very photogenic. The quality of the food and the crafts in the area were great. Our guide Leo was excellent. He shared a lot of information about both towns, its history, food, and culture. He went extra by marking our maps with recommended walking routes and spots for snacks and shopping. And by the end of the tour, he shared his recommended dining spots in Nagoya.

This was an unforgettable tour to Shirakawa Go. The tour guide changed the itinerary to visit Shirakawa Go first then went to Hida Takayama; which worked better because Shirakawa Go was so beautiful in the morning when the sun was out. This tour was on late December and the snow just started to build up, but melted eventually as it was not cold enough. Beware! Lots of black ice, wear non slippery base shoes. The tour guide added extra hours to Shirakawa Go which was great that we had time to enjoy some local snacks while in the area. Visit to Hida Takayama was in late afternoon, lots of restaurants have closed by 2:30 pm so we could only have light lunches like hida beef sushi and yakitori. But the town itself is so beautiful. We enjoy the atmosphere. The tour guide was so lovely, she was knowledgable and made lots of suggestions of what places to visit and to eat in. She also walks with us to make sure we can get in and out the places correctly. We highly recommend this tour. The timing is correct, not too rush. Thank you to both the tour leader and the driver! You did a great job!

I was awe-struck on the trip. My trip was led by Miss Amy, and she is a very kind and cheerful guide. She is both very informative by giving us pictures of the map ahead of time and laying out what to explore ahead of time. She was also very considerate to us tourist, and was touched by her acts of personal kindess to my family. She made us feel welcome at the locations we visited. Moreover, she cooperated with the bus driver cordially and thanked the bus driver for his hard work. We also expressed our gratitude to the bus driver for his part in the trip at the end of the trip. Overall, I would say that the trip was worth it.

the meeting point is easy to locate. Our tour guide Jane gave a good overview of the history Takayama and SHIRAKAWA Go. it was a long bus ride and ample washroom stops was given. we tried the famous ramen In Takayama and the yummy ice cream in SHIRAKAWA. the beautiful scenery in both places were amazing. my children had fun playing with snow it was drizzling high up in the mountains. we walked up to the observatory deck as we missed the micro bus which was 20 min interval. the walk takes about 10-15 min. when we were done n came down the micro bus just arrived at the observatory deck.
