this was a great tour! was a bit confused at the beginning on where to meet the guide but the contact staff were very responsive. the guide, Sunny was very helpful and knowledgable and shared about the background and history. it wasn’t too much walking, would recommend!
We explored two of the most important temples in Chiang Mai on an evening walking tour with Popcorn, who was an engaging and insightful guide. The pace was ideal, giving us enough time to explore the various temple buildings and artwork and learn quite a bit about Buddhism in Thailand. We had the opportunity to observe chanting monks and even to practise some meditation with Popcorn's guidance. He was also brilliant at taking photos for us! All in all, an insightful and fantastic experience.
Art, the tour guide, is practically a walking encyclopedia. Along the way, in addition to introducing the temples, he elaborates on Thai history and mythology, connecting how these temples came to be. The information is incredibly valuable, and he's attentive without being overbearing. You can tell that this tour guide is a very kind and enthusiastic person! Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn about the history of Chiang Mai temples!
For those who is interested in culture and history, this is a tour that cannot be missed. My guide, Varsity, not only knowledgeable in the history of different temples, history, and knows a lot of Budhism as well. I am not a Buddhist, but really enjoy the tour, the explanation and stories of Vasit. The evening tour gives you a different vibe for the tranquility and solemnity during the monks' evening prayers and teachings. Not to mention that one can avoid the heat in the day trip.
You can tell that our tour guide is very passionate about history and sharing all that info to us joiners. A tip: better wear slip ons since you will have to take off your shoes many times.
We had a great time with Nana. It was especially beautiful to see the temples in the warm evening light – without the intense midday heat. Our guide was warm and friendly, and had an answer to every question!
A tour of the old city's temples in Chiang Mai, groups can be very small but the guide explained every detail of the temples, from how they work to why they're made the way they are.
