definitely great value for money. the pass was easy to use and made the trip very enjoyable. you can buy the add on “limited” train ticket that does not require a change of train half way. I upgraded to the limited train on the outbound trip and took rhe regular trains back and it was just as easy. you literally just hop off one train, stay in the same platform and hop on the next to get back to the city. the unlimited bus ride in the mountains was fanatic too. just show driver the pass when you got off. saves a lot of money indeed. highly recommended.
Very nice place. I didn’t manage to visit it all in one day because it’s very big and temples close around 4-5pm. The cemetery is a very beautiful experience. The price for this pass is very nice at the time of this review!
Super worth just for buses alone. But, be mindful of what trains to get, as this ticket can only be used for the Nankai Koya (green on google maps) trains between Osaka-Namba/Gokurakubashi. If you want to get the faster Limited Express (blue), you need to pay a surcharge of 790 jpy cash at the station BEFORE boarding. The guards do check. FYI, they only give you a receipt for the surcharge, not an actual ticket. So, when exiting the station, you must scan your QR code. TIPS: Day trip is doable if you don't want to stay overnight. I left 8am, returned by 5pm. Start at Okunoin and go backwards towards Koyasan station using buses. Plan buses/trains ahead of time, to avoid waiting a lot. I booked a day before, planning as I go, but I wasted maybe 1.5hrs overall waiting. Carry enough cash! The Gokurakubashi ticket counter, some local restaurants and fees you may pay are often in cash only. Ensure you are on the right platform end (some trains are short), ask staff for help.
The Koyasan World Heritage Ticket is one of the most convenient and value-for-money passes if you’re visiting Mount Koya (Koyasan) from Osaka. It’s especially ideal for first-time visitors who want a smooth, no-stress trip to this UNESCO World Heritage site
I used the digital ticket and i had no problems using it. Just scan the QR code for the trains and cable car and show the live ticket to bus drivers. I saved some money going to Koyasan
Everything was excellent, using the tickets was extremely easy, and the experience of visiting Koyasan is great.
I traveled well from Nankai Namba Station to Koyasan Station. If you're not staying overnight in Koyasan, the round-trip subway and cable car ticket is worth it if you plan to take the bus more than three times in Koyasan. Otherwise, it might be better to pay for each ride individually. I only took the bus exactly three times, haha. The journey to Koyasan was truly beautiful!
This is an extremely convenient transportation pass, especially for travelers staying overnight on Mount Koya. In addition to the round-trip Nankai Electric Railway ticket, it also includes a two-day bus pass.
Booking process was smooth. However it would be great if I can use it immediately instead of on the next day. Also, since the QR was dynamic/ I could not screenshot, when I tried to call out the code on the return journey, it did not work, and I did panic a bit! Generally a must go place if you are visiting that region.
Highly recommended! Such a breathtaking place to visit! Worth every penny! Will go back again with my family.
