Hands down one of the best experiences we had in Hanoi. Coordination was seamless from booking to arrival — the team was incredibly proactive, making sure we got to the workshop smoothly with clear instructions every step of the way. Our host / teacher, Lin, was professional, warm, friendly, and spoke excellent English, which made everything easy and enjoyable. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, and even with other participants, the experience still felt intimate and personal thanks to the small group size. What we appreciated most was how hands-on and personalized it felt — and the recipes were genuinely delicious!!! More than learning how to make coffee, it gave us a deeper appreciation for the craft, the process, and the culture behind it. Super fun!
An incredible session with Lin! We loved getting hands-on and learning how to make different types of Vietnamese coffe and each one was delicious. What made it special, though, was that Lin didn't just teach us the 'how' but also the 'why' behind the coffee culture here in Vietnam. It gave us a much deeper appreciation for every cup we’ve had since. A must-do!
The best program to understand Vietnamese coffee culture! The Hanoi Coffee Workshop hosted by Local Beans Roastery in Hanoi was really informative. It was a time to experience everything about Vietnamese coffee, from brown coffee, silver coffee, white coffee, coconut coffee, egg coffee, and coffee cocktails, through coffee expert Jonathan. Local Beans Roastery, which has been in the coffee business for three generations, was a place that truly cherished Vietnamese coffee. It was also great to be able to experience Vietnamese wines (closer to Korean liquor, though^^;;) such as Apricot Wine and Secret Wine. It was a truly satisfying experience because everything from the presentation to the preparation of all the equipment was neat and professional. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves coffee and wants to experience Vietnamese coffee more deeply^^ The coconut coffee and egg coffee I made today are unforgettable memories of Hanoi♡
Great coffee workshop experience! We got to learn how to make Vietnamese egg coffee, coconut coffee and salty coffee from a friendly instructor. Tasting different local coffee styles was such a memorable highlight during our trip in Hanoi. The venue is cozy. Highly recommend to all coffee lovers visiting the city!
giang was an excellent instructor and her English was fantastic! we had 6 coffees in total and snacks were provided. we got to help make them and I learned so much about the history and the process. 10/10 recommend. also the transfer communication was so easy to arrange pick up!
Giang made us fall in love with Vietnamese coffee all over again We didn't know what to expect walking into Giang's coffee workshop in Hanoi, but we left with six new favourites and a couple of drinks we're still thinking about days later. Giang walked us through salted coffee, pour over, brown coffee, phin coffee, coconut coffee, and a coffee cocktail — not as a checklist, but as proper stories. She explained why each one exists, what makes Vietnamese coffee different, and let us taste everything as she went. The phin drip alone was worth the whole session. The surprises came at the end. She brought out mulberry wine and peanut worm wine. Yes, peanut worm wine. We were hesitant. We tried it anyway. It's genuinely interesting — earthy, a little funky, nothing like what you'd imagine. Giang had this calm, amused energy about her while watching us figure out how we felt about it. No pressure, just curiosity. What made the whole thing work was her.
Only my second day in Vietnam and already a major highlight for this trip. Giang is so kind and funny and was all good vibes and amazing coffee. Out of 6, coconut coffee was my fav. I highly recommend her for any trip to Vietnam.
Great thanks to our instructor Lin and the staff for the amazing workshop. In this 3-hour workshop, we not only had the chance to make and taste 6 different kinds of coffee, but also got to learn more about the different types of coffee beans. The egg coffee, the salted coffee and the coffee cocktail were especially incredible - may even taste better than those offered in some renowned cafes/cocktail bars in Hanoi. We really enjoyed the workshop and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes coffee.
It was a really fun experience trying new things with family and friends. We also got to know new people there and tasted different coffee cultures in Vietnam. The recipe they provided is really good, as we got to taste six different coffees. The staff is really helpful and responsive during our contact.
I really enjoyed the coffee workshop—it was fun, relaxed, and super informative. Giang explained things clearly and made it easy to follow along, even for someone without much experience.
