Good to know
It takes some time to change into a kimono. We recommend arriving about one hour before the tea ceremony experience begins.
- Online reservations include a basic kimono. Guests can upgrade their kimono plan in-store. Please first gather at the rental shop near Keihan Kiyomizu-Gojo Station to begin the experience, select your kimono, and choose accessories. After dressing, a professional photographer will take portraits for you in the studio, followed by the traditional tea ceremony experience. After the tea ceremony, you can walk around Kyoto wearing the kimono and return it by 5:30 PM. If you are heading to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, you can return the kimono at a nearby partner shop without having to return to the original store.
- Children's kimonos are suitable for heights of 85–130 cm. Guests over 130 cm tall must wear adult sizes.
- Please return the kimono by 5:30 PM on the same day. If you need to return it the next day or have it returned to your hotel, an additional fee will apply; please consult the store staff.
- If you require professional photography, please contact the store staff in advance to arrange a time.
- If damage or severe stains occur during the rental period, an additional fee may be charged.
- You can extend the rental until the next day (additional fee required) to enjoy the nighttime atmosphere of Kyoto.

this was an awesome experience! so cool to learn about traditional and informal tea ceremonies and to wear kimono! we were also happy to find out we could wear it out for the whole day as well. the team were so friendly and did our hair too! absolutely recommend especially for a first day experience while you wait to check in to your hotel
Amazing service and friendly staff members. Really beautiful kimonos and yukatas and lot of varietys to choose from (color, style, pattern), also got to choose pretty purse and comfortable shoes to complete the look!! Great first japanese traditional clothing experience, would recommend 100%.
Fantastic experience! Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful and varied kimonos with the option to choose premium quality for everything. Incredible hairstyles in 5 minutes. Plus, it's close to iconic temples for wonderful photo opportunities. Traditional shoes are included, but due to the rain, we opted to wear our own sneakers. 100% recommend!!

We had such a wonderful experience here as a family of four. From the moment we arrived, everything felt relaxed, welcoming, and very well organized. We each chose a kimono, had our hair beautifully styled, and had photos taken before taking part in the traditional tea ceremony. The host and her assistants were absolutely lovely — warm, patient, and very knowledgeable. They explained the meaning and traditions behind the ceremony in a clear and interesting way, and we felt completely comfortable asking questions throughout the experience. experience: instructor: The whole atmosphere was calm, personal, and enjoyable, and we never felt rushed. It was a very special experience for all four of us and a wonderful way to learn more about Japanese culture. Highly recommended!
Highly recommend for anyone that is visiting Japan and hasn’t done before! Learnt lots about the history of Japan throughout, whilst practicing a new skill that is lots of fun, in addition to wearing traditional Japanese clothing. It feels very authentic and cultural.
This experience was amazing, the ladies were so helpful and informative and made the experience seamless. I loved the pictures that were taken and the host was great at explaining and helping us learn the cultural significance of the tea ceremony. Loved the experience.
