Our instructor Hana made our tea ceremony a very memorable one. She taught us not only about the ritual of the tea ceremony, but also to be present in the moment. I highly recommend this ceremony to anyone who is interested in learning more about Japanese culture, or just wanting to have a fun, educational, and memorable experience. Thank you Hana.
Our family of four had a wonderful experience at the tea ceremony with Hannah (spelling?). Her presentation was beautifully performed and explained, and she was willing to answer any and all questions. She was very polite and kind, and you could really tell how much thought she put into her preparations and execution of the ceremony. I enjoyed learning all the nuances of the ceremony, and the matcha was delicious as well. I was able to buy a set for myself at the store, and I look forward to trying to recreate the ceremony at home.
Such a fun and neat experience! We learned so much about the traditional tea ceremony and all of the details that go into it! We also got to buy the matcha that we had during the ceremony! highly recommend!! Hana was the most amazing host and teacher!
Being in this traditional Machiya was wonderful and watching the tea master demonstrate the tea ceremony was mesmerizing. How graceful! Very informative and having a sizeable group the casual atmosphere was just right for the setting. They also use quality organic tea and supports regional produce. Did I mention how beautiful the Machiya is and its display?
Superb tea ceremony experience. I booked at the last minute for one person and was able to join a group. I learned about the history of the tea ceremony, how to prepare it, and how to drink it, both in the role of the preparer and the receiver. I recommend experiencing this at least once.
Hana was a great host. It was a informative ceremony. We learned the foundations, got to view a demonstration, and enjoy the tea we learned to make (with a sweet treat). As a solo traveler it was a great activity to be a part of a group even if for a short time. I would reccomend this activity. The matcha itself was so vibrant and high quality I went ahead about bought one to take home!
We had a wonderful experience at this tea ceremony. It was our first time attending one and our host was very kind and informative. Nothing felt rushed. lasted a little over an hour. would recommend to others.
The matcha tea ceremony was so fun and informative! Our instructor was kind, knowledgeable, and open to any questions, which made the experience engaging. I love matcha and decided to learn how to make it properly, so I bought their kit with a bowl, whisk, scoop, and more. We explored the art and mindfulness of matcha, and I loved hearing all the fascinating facts. Every step felt intentional and calming, giving me a deeper appreciation for this traditional practice. If you’re a matcha lover, I highly recommend this experience to fully enjoy and appreciate matcha!
one of my favorite experiences of our entire trip! we got so lucky, my sister and I were the only ones who signed up so we got a private lesson!! the instructor was so sweet and friendly, she loved that we wore our kimonos and hyped us up ☺️
I had a great time at the tea ceremony led by Hana, it was really fascinating to learn the meanings behind the different stages of the ceremony and Hana was passionate, friendly and great at facilitating a session which meant we could openly ask questions and be curious. I would recommend to anyone keen to immerse themselves in true Japanese tradition!
