Privately built by Genting Malaysia on difficult and mountainous terrain, Jalan Genting Highlands provides safe access to Resorts World Genting as well as mountainside destinations other than those of Genting Malaysia.Heavy usage on Jalan Genting Highlands have caused a tremendous amount of wear and tear, and requires constant maintenance to ensure the safety of the road users. On the “user pays” principle, the private road charge is the most sustainable path to defray the cost of upkeep, repairs, maintenance and other unforeseen incidents. This is to ensure the road continues to be safe for all users, and provide access to the entire Genting Highlands community, businesses, millions of tourists and members of the public from all over the country.This is a private initiative on a private road on private land. Genting Malaysia takes the responsibility of maintaining the safety of both the roads and the slopes seriously. Working on mountainous terrain is challenging, hazardous and expensive, but it is essential to ensure the safety of the road and the slopes for continuous improvement for all users. Genting Malaysia also employs teams stationed at mid-hill and hilltop on standby 24/7 for any contingencies with trained emergency response teams in case of mishaps and accidents. Effective 01.03.2022, a Sustainability Charge of RM3 per room/ day will be imposed in accordance with the Hotel (Pahang) Regulation 2021.
