Fantastic 5.0
The driver was very nice. We didn't know we'd pass a huge torii gate along the way, and she specifically pointed it out to us. Luckily, we made a detour to take photos; otherwise, we would have almost missed an interesting sight! 😆

When we traveled to Kurashiki, we chose the yukata experience located above the convenience store. The staff were very friendly and helped us choose a suitable yukata style. You can also pay extra to have your hair styled. If you're visiting Kurashiki and want to feel like a local, you can try the yukata experience; you'll be able to take some beautiful photos! We even had foreign tourists take pictures with us, which was a special experience. It must have been because the kimono yukata were so beautiful! 😻

Fantastic 5.0
It was pouring rain that day, so we couldn't take a boat ride. Instead, we explored small shops in Kurashiki, ate snacks, made pancakes, enjoyed peach ice cream, had takoyaki, bought button hair accessories, visited the Momotaro Museum (old but funny), exchanged jelly, saw Snoopy and Miffy bread, found Sumikko Gurashi merchandise, browsed denim shops, explored free gardens, visited art museums, and had soba noodles for lunch. There was so much to do! We walked around in the rain from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. After lunch, we took the JR at 2:30 PM to Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden! It was a great walk, and the 'Sanpo-ken' (walking pass) was very useful. The three of us bought five passes to use. You can't reuse them at the same store, and each person needs their own pass. For 250 yen, we had a great time for most of the day. It was beautiful and there were great things to buy! Excellent!

Fantastic 5.0
Suitable for those who are brave and over 130 cm tall. There's bungee jumping (additional charge required) and a standing, extra-long roller coaster. The sky bicycle and Ferris wheel are must-try attractions. There's a bingo game at 1 PM, and a waterslide open in the summer. To get there, alight at JR Kojima Station and transfer to bus route S1 at stop #4. The staff are friendly, except for the male attendant at the coffee cup ride (due to a language barrier). Nearby, you can visit Jeans Street and enjoy the sunset at Washuzan.

Fantastic 5.0
The shop is not far from the riverside in Kurashiki, located on the second floor of a clothing store. The owner is very kind and attentive. Although she doesn't speak Chinese, we were able to communicate using Google Translate and simple English. All the kimonos in the shop are beautiful, and the owner's skillful hands can make your hairstyle look amazing. Considering the price and the results, I highly recommend it! It was very hot that day, and the owner thoughtfully lent us an umbrella, which we really appreciated.

Great 4.0
The exhibition primarily features optical illusions, and some of the displays are great for taking photos. Overall, it's more recommended for those with children. As people in our late thirties, we finished touring it quite quickly. Oh, and the staff were all very friendly and tourist-friendly!

What to know before visiting Kurashiki

Top experiences overview

Kurashiki’s most-booked activities are its attraction passes and theme parks, followed by cultural experiences, and a small number of museum visits and tours. Demand rises and falls through the year, peaking in August and dipping in February, so summer is the busiest time for these experiences.

Activities by traveller type

Families will find the attraction passes and theme parks especially appealing — they offer easy, family-friendly access and predictable pricing that suits kids and parents. Couples often lean toward cultural experiences for a quieter, more local feel and a chance to soak up the city’s heritage. Solo travellers and small groups can mix museum visits with cultural experiences for flexible, lower-cost options that are easy to slot into a short itinerary.

What travellers from Singapore book ahead

With most travellers from Singapore booking about three days out, Kurashiki is a flexible short-break destination where you can pick up many things a day or two before travel. The earliest planners still tend to book around 12 days ahead, and that extra lead time matters most in August, when demand is highest.

Comparing categories by price and who they suit

Museums are the easiest, lowest-cost way into Kurashiki’s scene, offering very affordable visits for budget-conscious travellers. Attraction passes and theme parks sit in the mid-range: attraction passes are good value for seeing multiple sites, while theme parks are broadly appealing to families. Tours are the priciest and show the widest spread of options, ranging from standard guided outings to more premium experiences, so they suit travellers who want a curated or higher-end option.
