What to do at the Singapore Oceanarium?
1) Explore 22 immersive zones
With a space that's touted to be THREE times larger than the S.E.A. Aquarium that we all know and love, you can definitely expect to learn, explore, and discover a whole lot more at the Singapore Oceanarium!
Dive into vibrant coral gardens, deep-sea ecosystems, and prehistoric waters, plus cannot-miss features like the Moon Jelly kreisel tanks and the epic Open Ocean viewing panel.
We won't go into detail on all 22 zones, but here are some highlights that you definitely have to check out:
Ocean Wonders
Enter Ocean Wonders and meet the enchanting (and oddly delicious-looking) sea jellies! These fascinating creatures have been floating through our oceans for over 500 million years, and now you can watch them drift and pulse right in front of your eyes.
Don't be surprised if you find yourself drifting towards the middle of the area - at the heart of this glowing, otherworldly zone stands one of the world’s largest Kreisel habitats, where you'll find thousands of Moon Jellies pulse and glide in hypnotic, ever-changing rhythms.
P/S: A Kreisel tank (pronounced cry-zuhl) is a special kind of fish tank made just for jellyfish. Instead of corners and flat walls like normal tanks, it’s shaped in a way that water flows in a gentle circle, almost like a lazy river.
This also helps jellyfish float and move safely, as they are rather delicate, and keeps them from bumping into sharp edges or getting stuck.
What’s even cooler? Many of these jellies are bred and raised right here by the Oceanarium’s expert aquarists, so the displays are always evolving. Yup, this means that no two visits are ever the same, so there's always something new to look forward to when you visit!
Ancient Waters
Travel back millions of years at Ancient Waters, when our seas were ruled by prehistoric giants like the armour-jawed Dunkleosteus and razor-toothed Xiphactinus! Look up and you'll see the life-sized animatronics and towering replicas bring these ancient creatures to life in a dramatic, immersive journey through time.
But beyond looking at these life-sized models, it's also your chance to touch some real life ancient fossils at the fossil displays too!
Open Ocean
Step into the Open Ocean, where you’ll meet even more underwater friends, from graceful Manta Rays and Spotted Eagle Rays to majestic Zebra Sharks.
At the heart of it all is the Oceanarium’s largest viewing panel, a massive window into a world teeming with marine life. Need a moment to take it all in? Grab a bite at Ocean Bites, where you can enjoy sweet and savoury treats with a breathtaking ocean view as your backdrop.
Spirit of Exploration
Get ready to channel your inner explorer at the Spirit of Exploration zone — one of the most captivating spaces in the new Singapore Oceanarium.
At the heart of it all is the Jewel of Muscat, a stunning full-scale replica of a 9th-century Omani dhow. This ancient sailing ship once braved the Indian Ocean trade routes, and now stands proudly as a reminder of how far curiosity can take us.
Look up and you’ll spot the Pier Adventure, a suspended web structure that lets you walk above the exhibit for a whole new view — perfect for thrill-seekers and curious minds alike.
Drop of Water
Drop of Water is an immersive zone shines a spotlight on plankton, tiny microscopic but mighty organisms that fuel entire marine ecosystems.
Look up at the awe-inspiring domed ceiling that's shaped like a suspended water droplet, where mesmerising projections magnify millions of dancing plankton within.
Singapore's Coast
Welcome to Singapore’s Coast, where land meets sea in a living mangrove ecosystem. Are you ready to learn more about local marine life in a fun new way?
Get up close with native species like the Archerfish and Barred Mudskipper in live displays, or marvel as coastal creatures scuttle across rocks through dynamic projection mapping. You will gain a deeper appreciation for Singapore’s rich marine biodiversity, along with fresh insights from local research partners on how these animals adapt to our fast-changing environment.
2) Grab a Bite at Explorer's Nook
Check out the new Explorer’s Nook Café, serving marine-themed pastries and offering unique lifestyle souvenirs inspired by oceanic voyages!
Explorer’s Nook at the Singapore Oceanarium is an enchanting, marine‑themed café where curious adventurers can pause to indulge in an array of pastries, light bites, gourmet sandwiches and salads—all served in a bright, explorer-style setting. Its menu features whimsical, sea-inspired treats like starfish croissant sandwiches, pandan‑coconut croffles, and marine-animal cupcakes, perfect fuel for a discovery-filled day.
Beyond the flavours, the cafe doubles as a lifestyle boutique, offering keepsakes and souvenirs inspired by the ocean before you continue your voyage through the 22 themed zones.
3) Go Behind the Scenes at the Research & Learning Centre

You can find out more information on the various programmes on the Singapore Oceanarium website.
