This S$1.7 billion dollar mixed-use lifestyle and travel development was built with the intention of drawing more travellers to spend more time in Changi Airport, as well as enticing Singaporeans to make Changi Airport a part of their free time plans.
The hype is certainly real. Since Jewel Changi opened for public previews on April 11, it has drawn insane crowds, with people travelling from all over the island to catch a glimpse into Singapore’s latest lifestyle destination.

How To Get There
By MRT
Due to traffic congestion during peak hours and limited parking space, we recommend getting to Jewel Changi by MRT. Jewel Changi is directly linked to the Changi Airport MRT on the East-West (EW) Line, so catching a train from your area that connects you to the EW Line should allow you to avoid traffic jams on the roadways.
By Bus
You can take these public buses to Changi Airport Terminal 1:

Once you get off at the bus stop, it’s just a short walk over to Jewel Changi through the T1 Arrivals Hall.
From other Terminals
Terminal 1’s Arrival Hall is connected to the North Entrance of Jewel Changi, while using the link bridges in the Departure Halls of Terminals 2 and 3 will take you about 5-10 minutes on foot. From Terminal 4, take the free shuttle bus service to Jewel Changi.
How To Get Out: Free Shuttle Buses (Until 21 April)
For most people, Jewel Changi isn’t the closest thing to home. But from now till 21 April, there will be a free shuttle bus service that takes visitors from Jewel Changi out to Tampines, Bedok and Sengkang MRT stations.
What To Expect
With a 40-meter indoor waterfall and lush indoor forests, along with international flagship stores, famous F&B outposts and Jewel-only exclusives, the 10-storey Jewel Changi is certainly worth the trip to Changi Airport. From stunning sights to worth-it food experiences, here are 11 reasons why you should travel to Changi Jewel!
1. Snap the HSBC Water Vortex from all angles
One of the centrepieces of Jewel Changi, the 40-metre HSBC Water Vortex is the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.
This stunning water feature cascades from the glass ceiling all the way down to the basement, with a spectacular spray that refracts sunlight to create rainbows. Created from recycled rainwater, the Rain Vortex’s stream is collected at the base, and is used to water the surrounding gardens.
There are many places to capture a different side of the Rain Vortex: from high above in the Level 5 Canopy Park and from the levels above, from the Level 2 Jewel Changi entrance, from the Forest Valley’s ground level where the waterfall disappears, as well as from inside Basement 2 where the waterfall transforms into a glass vortex of water.
2. Take a cooling hike through the Shiseido Forest Valley
Lush greenery and thriving flora isn’t what you’d come to expect inside an airport – but the Shiseido Forest Valley turns the tables on that. This five-storey indoor rainforest houses over 100,000 shrubs and trees, which create the tranquil landscapes that visitors can take their time to explore.
You can even embark on a short hike through the Forest Valley’s vistas and terraces. There are two hiking paths within the Forest Valley: the Eastern Trail and the Western Trail. Each trail should take you no more than 30 minutes, and will take you through different landscapes and sights.
3. Explore the playgrounds and art installations around Jewel
Aside from all the shops and dining options, Jewel Changi is dotted with various nooks and green spaces you can escape to for a break from the milling crowds.
You’ll find that some of these spaces contain interesting surprises – from kids’ playgrounds to miniature gardens, and even art installations that blend organically into the environment.
Crystal Clouds is one of the art installations in Jewel Changi that’s impossible to miss. These 16 ‘clouds’ hang suspended over the Jewel Changi’s main entrance, which sparkle and glitter both day and night.
4. Get a taste of Michelin Guide food all in one place
With over a hundred dining options already open at Jewel Changi, and more to come later in the year, you’ll have a varied international spread to choose from.
Apart from famed international chains like Shake Shack, A&W, The Alley and Emack & Bolio, Jewel Changi also showcases a line up of restaurants that have made their way into the Michelin Guide.
Kam’s Roast
The second outpost of the Michelin-starred Hong Kong roast meat restaurant in Singapore, Kam’s Roast @ Jewel Changi Airport serves a line up of their signatures, such as crispy-skinned Suckling Pig and melt-in-your-mouth Toro Charsiew. The lauded Roast Goose still isn’t available yet – but their Cantonese-style Roast Duck is cooked in the same style, and is said to taste just the same.

Shiki Hototogisu
The Michelin-starred Hototogisu Ramen from Tokyo is opening its fourth concept here in Jewel Changi – Shiki Hototogisu. This outpost sets itself apart from its sister outlets with a special menu of four ramen that embody the different seasons.
The Spring Ramen captures the essence of sakura season, with a broth infused with cherry blossom oil and topped with sakura-shaped pasta. In contrast, the Autumn Ramen is woodsy and earthy from six different types of mushrooms, truffle oil and garlic butter.
While their season specials are worth a try, you can’t go wrong with Hototogisu’s classic Tonkotsu Ramen, which has a lighter character compared to most other tonkotsu broths, which are typically richer and more intense. Paired with the slices of Sous-vide Cha Shu and smoky, lightly-torched Belly Cha Shu, this is a solid bowl that’ll satisfy your ramen cravings.

Other Michelin-recommended spots you can find at Jewel Changi include the Michelin-starred Tsuta Ramen from Japan and Tim Ho Wan from Hong Kong, as well as Michelin Plate Birds of Paradise based in Singapore’s Tanjong Katong, which serves botanical ice-cream flavors like Spiced Asian Pear, White Chrysanthemum with Cacao Nibs, and Pandan.
5. Try the Starbucks Reserve Nitro Brews at Singapore’s Largest Starbucks
Starbucks Reserve @ Jewel Changi is Singapore’s flagship Reserve store and is the largest Starbucks in Singapore up to now! This two-storey space is decked out to match the nature-inspired environment of Jewel Changi, and features multiple ordering counters, a Jewel-exclusive food menu, and various seating options from single bar seats to cosy tables.
Don’t miss the Nitro Brews that are on offer at the four-tap Starbucks DRAFT station – the second to open in all of Asia, after the CentralWorld Starbucks Reserve in Thailand. This innovative DRAFT system creates nitrogen-infused drinks with a velvety mouthfeel – choose from Nitro Flat White, Nitro Green Tea Latte, Nitro Caramel Macchiato, and Nitro Tropical Fruit Tea.
The Singapore Starbucks Reserve offers a range of special coffee brewing options you won’t find at regular Starbucks – from Chemex to Siphon Drip – as well as a special collaboration with local ice-cream parlour Udders that features Cold Brew Floats and Affogato. They’ve also launched an exclusive local flavours-inspired food menu that includes Satay Chicken Ciabatta and Hainanese Chicken Rice Quinoa!

6. Catch all the Singapore-exclusive merchandise at the Pokemon Centre Singapore
The first official Pokemon merchandise store outside of Japan has landed in Jewel Changi! Now, with the Pokemon Center Singapore, there’s no need to make the pilgrimage to Japan for Pokemon collectibles.

7. Treat yourself to some delicious hand-crafted Swiss chocolates at Laderach
No need to wait for your friends flying back from Europe to hand-carry bags of Läderach chocolate anymore. After sporadic pop-ups that were few and far between, Switzerland’s Läderach has finally opened a permanent boutique in Singapore’s Changi Jewel!
The first Läderach store in Southeast Asia, Läderach Chocolatier Suisse Singapore’s highlight is definitely the embossed FrischSchoggi slabs, which are airflown from Switzerland. Definitely go for the Darks, which are made with a base of 70% chocolate and are available with a variety of mix-ins, from classic Hazelnut to fruity Orange Almond.
At $19.90 for 100g, the FrischSchoggi is a little pricey – but it’s worth the splurge. Savour every bite.

8. Customise your own pair of kicks at Southeast Asia’s biggest Nike store
Jewel Changi’s two-storey Nike Store is the largest in Southeast Asia – and is practically a museum in itself. For the first time in Southeast Asia, all the Nike products across their sports and lifestyle collections are being featured in one store.
Aside from the latest models of athletic footwear that cater to every sport – from running to powerlifting – Nike at Jewel Changi boasts a huge sneaker line up on the second floor. There’s also a Nike By You counter, where you can customise a pair of kicks unique to only you!

Souvenir shopping at a supermarket seems kind of unusual – but not at Jewel’s NTUC FairPrice Finest. Aside from fresh food and groceries, this Fairprice Finest has a whole section dedicated to local food-themed souvenirs!
Aside from Singapore-themed knick knacks, Jewel’s FairPrice Finest also carries a wide array of snacks from all over the world! Now, you can find everything from your favourite Honey Butter Almonds to Pocky Double all in one place.

10. Have an upgraded movie experience at Shaw Theatres Jewel
With 11 cinema halls open from 9am – 3am, including two Lumiere theatres and an all-new IMAX 4K Laser Projection theatre, Shaw Theatres Jewel is the next place to head to for late-night movies.
The Lumiere theatres offers a more premium experience – with only 26 seats per theatre that can be reclined up to 42 degrees – while the IMAX Laser theatre delivers a cinematic immersion like no other, with sharper, more vivid images and 12-channel sound technology.
Most of the scenes will open on April 17, but the IMAX Laser Theatre only opens on 24 April – so you’ll have to wait a bit before you can access this new movie-watching experience.

At the 2,290 square-metre Uniqlo at Jewel Changi – the second-largest store in Singapore – you’ll be able to snag an exclusive early launch of the Marvel x Jason Polan Uniqlo T-Shirt collection.This collection features designs from New York-based artist Jason Polan, who drew inspiration from the works of some of Marvel’s greatest artists.
From 11 April onwards, Uniqlo at Jewel Changi is giving out free Marvel Keychains with any purchase from the Marvel x Jason Polan collection. Some of Jewel Changi’s highlights won’t be open until later in the year, such as the 14,000 square-meter Canopy Park that only opens 11 June and the highly-anticipated Burger and Lobster from London that will open on 20 May.
Pegged as a first-of-its kind indoor nature wonderland, Jewel Changi’s Level 5 Canopy Park features unique playscapes, walking trails and al fresco dining terraces in its air-conditioned garden environment.
For those who didn’t get the chance to see it during the public preview, here’s a sneak peak into this indoor wonderland!
Manulife Sky Nets
For a different perspective of Canopy Park, head to the Sky Nets. There are two different Sky Net experiences – the Walking Net that spans a 25-metre void, which visitors can hop on for a thrilling aerial walk, and the Bouncing Net where you can bounce amongst the tree-top canopies.
Topiary Walk
Named after the art of creating living sculptures out of shrubs and trees, the Topiary Walk is a photo-friendly space that features ornamental animals sculpted out of living plants! From colourful parrots to bug-eyed chameleons, see how many animals you can spot amongst the trees.
Foggy Bowls
The Foggy Bowls are supposed to be filled with billows of mist to create the impression of walking amongst the clouds – but unfortunately, the mist will not be turned on until the Canopy Park opens officially in June. Wait till then to check out this ethereal space!
Discovery Slides
The four Discovery Slides combine art and play into one – with the slide structures melding together to create a shiny sculpture that visitors can climb on.
Petal Garden
At the Petal Garden, expect to experience a perpetual spring season, with lush carpets of flowers always in bloom.
Hedge Maze
Jewel Changi’s Hedge Maze is the largest in Singapore, with various twists and turns for visitors to figure out. At the heart of this green maze lies a tower, which you can climb up for a bird’s eye view of the winding hedges.
