Day 1: Pandas & Ancient Wonders
Dujiangyan City (都江堰市)
Start your Chengdu adventure with a dose of history at
Dujiangyan, the 2,000-year-old irrigation marvel that still keeps the region lush and thriving today. Wander through its scenic canals, temples, and bridges, and soak up the ancient charm.
Don’t miss the iconic South Bridge (南桥蓝眼泪), a historical landmark celebrated as the "First Bridge of Chengdu" after more than a century of renovations and reconstructions.
Panda Valley (熊猫谷)
After soaking up the ancient charm, head to
Panda Valley for unforgettable encounters with playful cubs and gentle giants. Get up close with
more than 30 giant pandas 🐼 and explore the
free-range red panda area, where their playful antics are pure cuteness overload. Managed by the
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Panda Valley combines semi-wild habitats with fortress-style enclosures to help giant pandas adapt for eventual release into the wild. This pioneering
“soft release program” gives visitors a rare chance to see these amazing creatures in a more natural, relaxed setting.
Day 2: History Meets Hip
Wuhou Shrine (武侯祠)
Start your day at
Wuhou Shrine, a must-visit for history buffs and culture lovers. Dedicated to
Zhuge Liang, the legendary strategist of the Three Kingdoms era, this serene shrine and its surrounding gardens offer a peaceful glimpse into China’s rich past.
Wander through the halls, admire the intricate carvings, and soak in stories of loyalty, wisdom, and heroism that have inspired generations.
Taikoo Li Shopping District (太古里) & Chun Xi Road (春熙路)
Once you’ve soaked up the history, it’s time to explore Chengdu’s trendy side! Head to Taikoo Li, the city’s vibrant shopping and lifestyle district. Modern boutiques, chic cafés, and art-filled courtyards blend seamlessly with traditional architecture, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, people-watching, and a little urban exploration. Grab lunch at one of the stylish cafés and soak in the city’s chic vibes — a perfect mix of modern flair and local culture.
Hong Ding Yan (红鼎艳)
As night falls, make your way to
Hong Ding Yan, the hotspot that’s taken Chengdu by storm. Dubbed by both Chinese and international visitors as the
“World’s No. 1 Cultural Dining & Show Hot Pot Brand,” this isn’t your ordinary dinner — it’s a full-on sensory experience.
With 360° all-around seating, you’ll enjoy an immersive dance and dining show while savoring their signature hot pot bases.
It’s the perfect way to wrap up your day — great food, vibrant culture, and a truly unforgettable Chengdu vibe.
Klook Tip:
Arrive on time (or early!) for makeup appointments — being over 10 mins late may forfeit your slot.
If you’ve only reserved a seat (no makeup service), arrive at least 30 mins early to exchange your ticket.
Menu changes daily; dishes served may differ from photos.
Day 3: Huanglong Highlights
Kick off the morning with a 1hr 40min high-speed rail ride from Chengdudong Station to Huanglongjiuzhai, where stunning alpine scenery awaits.
Why travel around China via train instead?
China boasts the largest and busiest high-speed rail network in the world, stretching over 45,000 kilometers and connecting more than 550 cities. These bullet trains can reach incredible speeds of up to 350 km/h (217 mph), making travel between major cities incredibly fast and efficient.
Huanglong Scenic Area (黄龙景区)
Upon arrival, take your time to explore the
Huanglong Scenic Area, one of Sichuan’s most breathtaking natural wonders.
Spend the rest of the day exploring Huanglong’s famous terraced limestone pools, shimmering in shades of turquoise, green, and gold.
Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and lush forests, this UNESCO World Heritage Site feels like stepping into a fairytale. Wander along wooden walkways, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and capture postcard-perfect views at every turn. Whether you’re taking photos, soaking in the scenery, or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, Huanglong is a nature lover’s paradise.
Day 4: Jiuzhaigou Magic
Jiuzhaigou (九寨沟景区)
Wake up early and head deeper into nature for a full day at
Jiuzhaigou Valley, one of China’s most stunning UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Known as the
“Valley of Nine Villages,” Jiuzhaigou is famous for its crystal-clear lakes, multi-tiered waterfalls, and vibrant forests that change colors with the seasons.
Spend the day wandering along well-maintained wooden walkways, marveling at Shuzheng, Rize, and Long Lake, and photographing the reflection of snow-capped peaks on turquoise waters. The valley is also home to rare wildlife and Tibetan villages, offering a perfect mix of natural beauty and cultural charm.

Minjiang, Dadu, and Qingyi Rivers converge. It’s not just a masterpiece of ancient engineering, but also a deeply spiritual site that continues to inspire wonder today.
Start your visit with a boat ride for the best panoramic view of the Buddha in its full glory — an unmissable photo moment.
