All you need to know about Waterbom Bali
Bali is best known for its beaches, but one can’t deny the draw of the many adrenaline-pumping activities available on the island - especially when it comes to Waterbom Bali.
Located in the heart of Kuta beach, Asia’s #1 water theme park is not just accessible, it’s also home to a variety of rides for thrill seekers and scaredy cats alike. The Klook Team visited recently and tried out all the rides (including the world’s longest slide) so you can plan your water theme park strategy! From free-falling down The Climax to bumping it out with some pals on The Python - we’ve compiled the complete list of rides at Waterbom Bali for you to pick favourites.
Are you ready for Asia’s #1 water theme park?
If you ever got lost in the park, Waterbom Bali's park map is really informative and easy to follow!
Situated in the heart of Kuta, Waterbom Bali is just a 15-minute drive away from most central hotels and villas.
We stayed in a hotel at Seminyak, not too far away from Waterbom Bali - it’s a 20-minute drive without traffic. Although we left the hotel at 9AM, we only managed to get there at 9.40AM due to the massive jam. The traffic at Kuta was heavy and traffic lights were only available at selected areas.
Luckily, we opted for a private car charter to drive us around. Our driver was really experienced and he breezed through the honking traffic like a professional! The route to Waterbom also involved going through a lot of small alleys that weren’t clearly labelled on the road. Thus, even with the use of GPS it might be tough to navigate around without a local driver who knows the road well.
We highly recommend getting a private car charter to cut down on time wasted in trying to navigate through the city. Besides, you can also take a short nap in the car before a day out in the sun! Klook yourselves a private car charter and arrive at Waterbom in comfort! This also gives you the option of leaving your stuff in the vehicle and saving on locker rental costs.
As with all popular water parks, you can definitely expect a queue! To maximize your time on all the rides, Klook your tickets and to skip the lines! We were lucky to have pre-booked our tickets as entry was cut off at 3pm that day due to full capacity in Waterbom.
Plus, the last thing you’d want is for wet weather to foil your plans. Luckily, the tickets are open dated, giving you the freedom to visit the park any day you wish. Just flash your mobile e-voucher at the counter to redeem your tickets and you’re all set!
You will also be given a waterproof Splash Bracelet which you can use make purchases for anything within the water park. Just top up the bracelet with an amount you’d think you’ll require and tap it whenever you need to make payment.
As a guide, a value of IDR 500,000 (~USD 34.54) should be enough to get you through a full day at Waterbom Bali. Any unused credits can be refunded at any of the top up counters located in the water park.
There are three locker locations around Waterbom, giving you plenty of options for storage. You will also be given a waterproof bracelet (different from a Splash Bracelet) where you can unlock your locker with a single tap. This way, you won’t have to worry about losing your belongings or locker keys while you’re having fun in the sun.
A family locker costs around IDR 35,000 (~USD 2.42) and a regular locker costs IDR 25,000 (~USD 1.73). However, do take note that a deposit of IDR 30,000 (~USD 2.27) is required per locker hire.
Besides lockers, there are also towels available for rent at only IDR 10,000 (~USD 0.69) per piece. Similarly, you will need to make a deposit of IDR 62,000 (~USD 4.28) per towel that will be returned at the end of your day.
A full day out at a water park can be tiring even for the most ardent thrill-seekers. If you’re travelling in a group or simply need a place to rest, we recommend renting one of the many gazebos onsite.
Having your own private space also gives you the opportunity to unwind and chill in the tropical garden of Waterbom Bali. Besides, you can dump all your valuables into the safe provided in each gazebo and play with a peace of mind.
P.S. Food and drink from all the outlets in Waterbom can be ordered and delivered to your gazebos.
Here are the gazebo options available for rent: Regular: Up to 6 people (IDR 200,000) (~USD 13.81) Family: Up to 8 people (IDR 250,000) (~USD 17.26) Private Family: Up to 12 people (IDR 1,2500,00) (~USD 86.32)
Do take note that you have to place a IDR 75,000 (~USD 5.18) deposit for each gazebo.
