What to expect
Jiufen Old Street
- The most impressive sight is undoubtedly the old street district. Every evening, the red lanterns on both sides of the street illuminate the ancient steps, contrasting with the dim yellow lights of the houses. This freezes the old mountain town street in time, and the entire Jiufen mountain town is filled with a rich, traditional atmosphere.
Shifen Station
- Along the railway, houses stand side by side. Strolling along the old street beside the tracks, you can feel the rich classical and nostalgic atmosphere. This is also the filming location for the famous Taiwanese movie "You Are the Apple of My Eye."
Shifen Waterfall
- Shifen Waterfall is a magnificent waterfall located in Taiwan's Pingxi District. It is 20 meters high and surrounded by lush green vegetation, making it a popular spot for hiking and nature enthusiasts.
Yehliu Geopark
- Yehliu Geopark, also known as Yehliu Scenic Area, is a cape formed by the extension of the Datun Mountain range into the sea. Weathering, sea erosion, and crustal movements have created wonders such as mushroom rocks, sea-eroded caves, tofu rocks, candle rocks, and potholes, making it a world-renowned natural scenic spot. Among them, the "Queen's Head" is the most representative landmark and a popular check-in spot in Yehliu; the "Cute Princess" has a ponytail-like shape and is known as the successor to the Queen's Head.

Reviews
Sophie is an excellent tour guide and very approachable. She even lent us some cash when we didn't have any. Thank you for allowing us to experience this tour. My only suggestion is that I hope we can stay longer at the windmill because we left before sunset and didn't fully enjoy the view. Hopefully, next time, you will consider letting us stay for at least two to three minutes during sunset. Thank you.
We had a great trip! Thanks to our driver/guide Oscar, who introduced us to a few must-try local foods and made the experience even more enjoyable. He was friendly, helpful, and also kindly helped us take many nice pictures throughout the trip. Thank you, Oscar, for making our journey memorable!
We had an amazing time on the Yehliu, Shifen, and Jiufen day tour! The rock formations at Yehliu Geopark are absolutely stunning and unlike anything I’ve seen before—perfect for photos. The itinerary was well-paced, giving us enough time to explore the unique landscapes and enjoy the coastal views. Shifen and Jiufen were equally magical. It was a very convenient and hassle-free way to see these iconic spots in one day. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Taiwan!
The itinerary is well-planned and allows you to visit many attractions in a short amount of time, making it perfect for first-time visitors to Taiwan who want to see a lot. Along the way, you can enjoy diverse natural landscapes and get a glimpse into local life and customs. The scenery is truly stunning; both the mountain and ocean views are beautiful and make for great photos. 👍 Our driver, Master Wang, was very kind, enthusiastic, and patient. He proactively shared many local stories, customs, and insights into daily life, which added a personal touch and made the trip much more engaging than just sightseeing. This itinerary is fast-paced, with tight scheduling. If you prefer to explore slowly and examine each place in detail, it might feel a bit rushed. It's best suited for those who don't mind a quick pace and want to efficiently see many sights.
This was a self-guided tour, so there was no tour guide, but overall it was a great experience! The itinerary was clear and easy to follow, and each stop was enjoyable. Everything was organized well, making it convenient to explore with plenty of time each place. I would definitely recommend this tour my family and friends.
The Northern Taiwan Classic Tour was fantastic. The sights were beautiful and well-paced, and our guide Mr. Chang was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Booking through Klook was smooth and convenient.
The organizers planned the itinerary carefully and communicated clearly for the guidelines. Special thanks to Mr. Wu Jiahao (our driver) who was friendly and tried his best to communicate with everyone even if we have different nationalities. Everyone from our group had great personalities so they were easy to get along with. I had a great time exploring the tourist spots by myself, occasionally crossing paths with some from my group. It was really fun, and there was enough space in the van for everyone to be comfortable during the trip! Will recommend to friends! :)
It was a great value and saved us a lot of time. We got to ride in a smaller, more private vehicle with only 6-7 people in our group. The downside was that the driver didn't speak English. Luckily, some people in our group could speak Chinese and English and helped translate. We also communicated within the group via WhatsApp and the driver used a translation app, haha.
Joining this carpooling tour to Yehliu, Shifen and Jiufen turned out to be one of the most enjoyable travel experiences I’ve had. The price was much more affordable than booking a private transfer. Shoutout to our driver - Mr. Wang Qisong 🫶He was punctual, friendly, and kept the ride comfortable. He even gave us a cute mini lantern as souvenir! 😍 The best part was chatting with the other passengers—fellow travelers from different countries—so the journey felt more like a social experience than just transportation.
Our North coast Taiwan Carpool Tour was convenient and worth every penny. Our driver Chun Wei was very easy to communicate with. He messaged our group along with the other people in our carpool tour the important details (i.e., time, itinerary, things to bring, entrance fees, etc.) days before the actual tour. He offered to take our pictures even if it was supposed to be a self-guided tour. He also agreed to drop us off to a night market on our way home. The whole ride was smooth, comfortable (free water and tissue was provided) and the van was clean and cool. I highly recommend this tour if you prefer a more private tour as compared to joining a bus tour.
