Reviews
The climb up Mount Bintan is challenging. Don’t expect a brisk walking up the mountain cause you will need to climb up cliff and negotiate your way up the challenging terrain. Not recommended for groups with small kids or elderly. The guide was a very experienced climber who trained people for mountain rescue. So you will be in safe hands. And he can converse very well in English, Bahasa or Melayu. Not sure what other languages he can converse in. The climb up was about 1.5 hours and we did make it on that timing despite climbing in the rain. The view on top will be wonderful depending on the weather. We didn’t get any views because of the rain though. Even then it was rather adventurous having to climb up cliffs and waterfall. And climbing down is even more challenging. But we did make it in less than an hour.
The Driver arrived on time at my resort for pick up. Snacks and drinks are provided for you to consume in the car and otw. The 2 guides are professional and helpful to guide us non-climber up to our first mountain in 2 hrs and down in 1 hrs. Be prepared to get your hands/ legs dirty for the climb. The Food is 7/10 for the price point. The view is unique. considered as kelong seafood as we are on a platform made of wooden poles. After the food, the driver is helpful and willing to bring us to plaza lagoi for some mini sightseeing along the way to our resort (out of the planned iternery) before dropping us back to our resort. I would recommend them and this trip.
the guide is experienced. he is amazing and motivating throughout the trip!
