Reviews
I originally thought it would be explained while walking, but the explanation stopped at one point and explained for 5-15 minutes, about 10 points. The walking range was not very large. It basically explained the history of this area as the initial development of Sydney and the colonization of British convicts. , the explanation is quite interesting, but it is not suitable for people who want to go shopping. If you are not good in English, choose carefully. You can leave your bag at the starting point and walk more easily.
our guide was insightful and told us the importance of the rocks. it’s more of a historical with with a beautiful view of the Sydney opera house in the end.
if you prefer a tour that tackles the history of The Rocks then you're in for a treat. Anne was the tour guide that was assigned to us and she's good in relaying the history of the place as we walk around the area.
In a short 90-minute trip, the tour guide explained the development history of Sydney attentively. The old town of The Rocks is very close to the best place to check in at the Pier Opera House.
Thank you Anne, our lovely guide, for this walking tour ❤️ I'm definitely recommending people visiting Sydney to join this tour.
Unfortunately, our tour took place on a damp afternoon, which made the experience a bit less enjoyable. At times, it was difficult to hear the guide, though he was very considerate, pausing frequently to repeat important details at notable spots. Navigating the maze of streets and hidden alleys in The Rocks was a bit challenging, but without his explanations, I wouldn’t have discovered these fascinating hidden gems that hold such historical significance. While the tour had great content, better audio support or a smaller group size could have improved the experience.
The walk was informative and the guide Edith is a wonderful and knowledgeable lady! Highly recommended!
Very informative, tour guide was very personable and led at a pace that all ages could keep up. 1 point missed as our indigenous history was not quite as accurate as told.
wow this is an awesome experience, I feel very comfortable
Very nice tour. Edith was a very professional and insightful guide and provided interesting facts and details about every single place we visited. I highly recommend it if you wish to get a first taste of Sydney and its vibrant history
Good to know
Wear comfortable walking shoes — the tour covers uneven surfaces, cobblestone streets, and some stairs.
The Rocks is one of Sydney’s oldest and most character-filled neighbourhoods, so expect a few slopes and hilly laneways.
Bring a hat, sunscreen, and water, especially on warm days — many streets are outdoors and exposed to the sun.
Tours operate in most weather conditions, so a light rain jacket or umbrella is handy just in case.
Arrive 10–15 minutes early to check in and meet your guide before departure.
Cameras are welcome — there are plenty of photo-worthy heritage buildings and harbour views along the route.
