Guide
Xiling Seal Engravers' Society is located at the southern foot of Gushan Mountain. Its pavilions and towers are built according to the mountain's terrain, with rock carvings visible everywhere, creating a serene and elegant atmosphere. Inside the China Seal Museum, there is a large collection of valuable seals and calligraphy and paintings, which are worth savoring. Because it is the prototype of Wu Xie's antique shop in "The Grave Robbers' Chronicles," many fans also come to visit. Although Xiling Seal Engravers' Society is not large, it has many buildings and is full of humanistic charm. Upon entering, you first see the Cypress Hall, Bamboo Pavilion, and Seal Corridor. After passing through the stone archway and climbing the stone steps up the mountain, you can see buildings such as Guanle Tower (Wu Changshuo Memorial Hall), Shijiao Pavilion, Tixian Pavilion, and Tijinguan, as well as ponds and the "Xiaolonghong Cave," a stone cave covered with inscriptions. On the mountain, there is a stone chamber housing the "Han Sanlao Stone Stele" from the Eastern Han Dynasty, a national treasure redeemed by the joint efforts of the society's members in the early last century. At the top of the mountain, there is also the Huayan Sutra Pagoda, inscribed with Buddhist scriptures and statues, which is a landmark building of the Xiling Seal Engravers' Society. The garden is lush with plants, serene and elegant, and you often see local elderly men playing cards and chess in the pavilions and corridors. Coming here to stroll around, or to drink tea and chat in the teahouse, is very pleasant. Xiling Seal Engravers' Society is a high-level research group for epigraphy and seal carving both domestically and internationally. The exhibition halls here sell seals and calligraphy and paintings. If you are interested, you can choose a seal and ask a master to engrave your name on it as a souvenir.
