Reviews summaryMy family with teenagers had an excellent time on this tour. We joined a small group tour which was well planned with a few other destinations before the highlight Penguin Parade. We saw the little penguins returned from the sea, gathered at the beach, waited for the others before they marched up to the penguins super highway to go back to their burrows. Absolutely amazing. Moonlit Santiary was surprisingly good and voted best (out of three zoos we visited during our Melbourne trip) by my family members. Special thanks to Mark K from Go West Tour who gave us an overview of Australian history during our ride and walked us round the sanctuary and sharing his knowledge along the way.
We joined the Philip Island Day Tour as a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids), and it was such a memorable experience! Our guide, Jacqui, was fantastic — especially considering it was her first day back. She was warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip feel smooth and enjoyable. We started at the iconic Brighton Beach Boxes, then headed to the wildlife sanctuary where the kids had a great time. We were pleasantly surprised to find halal food options available there, which was a big plus for us. Along the way, we also made a few scenic stops to explore the beautiful coastal beaches. The highlight, of course, was ending the day with the Penguin Parade. Even though it was rainy, we still managed to see the adorable penguins waddling up the shore. Just a tip for future visitors: umbrellas aren’t allowed at the parade, so be sure to bring raincoats and dress warmly! Overall, a well-organised and enjoyable day trip that our whole family loved. Highly recommended!
Go West minibus arrived on time at the pickup location. Our guide and driver, Terry, was very funny and introduced the attractions along the way. There was plenty of time at each attraction, including: the Brighton Bathing Boxes, Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, Cape Woolamai, the Nobbies, and the Penguin Parade. We saw wild kangaroos and were recommended to upgrade our Penguin Parade viewing platform ticket, which allowed us to see many little penguins up close as they waddled ashore. At Moonlit Sanctuary, we also had the option to purchase a koala photo opportunity and get up close with a koala. We were dropped off back in the city around 9:30 PM, completing the 11-hour tour. It was a memorable and enjoyable trip.
Every itinerary was fantastic, and the Penguin Parade was incredibly cute and spectacular. However, I must say that the most satisfying part of this trip for me was actually the Nobbies. The weather on the day we departed was excellent, and the Nobbies, bathed in the warm glow of the sunset, truly gave me the breathtaking feeling of visiting the end of the world. Our guide, Rhys, was also very professional in his driving and commentary. He was able to appropriately intervene when passengers used external speakers on the bus, thus maintaining the quality of the ride. If I have another opportunity to bring others to Melbourne, Go West's service will still be my top choice.
Lisa was an amazing guide, super friendly, energetic and passionate about her country! We had a great time during the tour. The duration of each venue was reasonable. The van was comfortable and Lisa driving skills were superb, sparing us from motion sickness. Though no photography allowed at night at penguin parade, the penguins were so adorable.
I had a fantastic time on Philips Island with Jono. From the start, he was welcoming and full of local knowledge, and he explained everything clearly while keeping the tour fun and engaging. The pacing was perfect, and he was attentive to the group the whole way through. We saw so many great highlights and I’d absolutely book again. Highly recommend!
tour guide super friendly and knowledgeable on wildlife! get to see wild whale and wild penguin during the trip as well! if you love animals, this is the tour for you! get to visit zoo as well and fed wallaby and kangaroo but need pay for the animal food. the trip ended late at 8.30pm, will take about an hour to get to the city but is worth it!!!
We had a fantastic trip! Our guide and driver, Jono, was very friendly and explained the itinerary clearly, making our tour enjoyable. Our main goal was to see the adorable penguins come ashore, and we booked the underground viewing, which allowed us to see them perfectly, especially since it wasn't cold at all in winter and the view was clear. We highly recommend this tour, and thank Jono for his excellent service!
This trip was absolutely amazing!! Full of good vibes and the kindest people ever. I had the best time with this tour. My tour guide was Woody and he was so helpful the whole time ✨ Literally made the trip 10 times better. If I go on another tour with them, I’d recommend Woody to everyone I know!! 10/10!! PERIODTTT. Also the price is such a steal for a day tour!! 😍😍 Thanks so much!!
Budgie is amazing guide and local expert. He gave us thorough introductions of districts and attractions along the way. Loved this tour! Be sure to bring warm clothes while waiting for the penguins!
