Reviews
Best Experience hiking trip explori g the old town of nakasendo. we got a good English speaking guide, Paula from Snow Monkey resort. Explained to us very detailed about the history of Nakasendo. Even in a rain we still continued hiking. Very recommended tour
The post towns of Tsumago and Magome are picturesqe little towns that give a glimpse of how the daimyo's used to travel to and from Tokyo and Kyotol. Kim, our guide who was very knowledgeable and accomodating had alot of little tidbits to share about the places we passed by something that made the hike more rewarding.
This tour made it super simple and stress free getting to the Nakasendo trail. Our driver was lovely and always on time. Our tour guide Kim was not only super friendly but had heaps of great information about the history of the trail and also for all our random questions. She even made sure to grab some extra umbrellas when the weather turned! The hike itself was beautiful and Kim made sure we stopped in all the good photo places. Couldn’t recommend enough!
Great experience and walk in part of the Nakasendo trail that is organised by Snow Monkey. Fantastic drive by Iwasaki-san and the nice comfortable walk was lead by Kim who was not only knowledgeable but also considerate to all going at a slower rate. a good trip to cover this section.
Thank you to the team for helping me reschedule my booking after I missed my original reservation due to a personal oversight, allowing me to successfully join this trip. Special thanks to Emily for leading and guiding the entire tour, and for being attentive to the needs of the elderly participants, even arranging for the driver to pick up two of them. This trip was challenging, but the natural scenery was breathtaking and truly beautiful. Thank you again to the entire team!
Great tour. Enough time for everything. Both the tour guides, Kim and Camille , were great; helpful, informative, entertaining. Driver is polite and drive safely. Bus is clean. Definitely worth every dollars. Not possible to do this tour on my own.
friendly and knowledgeable guides who took care of our needs every bit. the big bus is extremely comfortable making the long journey less challenging. hike is not for beginners but good experience for those who is moderately fit. definitely recommended to join Kim and Snowmonkeys company for this tour!
Well organized tour and Kim is a great guide. The start of the tour is Tsumago and the end of the hike is Magome. The hike itself is relatively easy and manageable. All in all, it's worth the experience.
A fantastic day of hiking and exploring Tsumago and Magome, the scenery was amazing. The route started from Tsumago, where we pretended to be travelers from the Edo period returning to our hometown of Kyoto from Tokyo, walking along the Nakasendo Trail, experiencing a sense of distant history, and the wonderful feeling of nature. The tradition of "not selling, not renting, not destroying" allows us to see houses from hundreds of years ago, which is very impressive.
Sir Israel was a very fun guide on the trail. He explained some important things about Tsumago and along the trails, offering a glimpse into history. The pace was easy, like a walk in the park. Our driver that day was also very courteous and friendly. Overall, I enjoyed this Nakasendo Trail with the team.
