The museum is close to the coast. So you will normally need to walk for 20 minutes to get there. It is normally not very crowded.

I love this experience! So many things to learn and experience in the museum. half day isn’t enough to explore everything. I definitely recommend this to everyone. ☺️

This is a great place to spend the whole day, located at Pier 13 (Fisherman's Wharf is at Pier 39). It's definitely worth taking children there. There are all sorts of games and installations covering physics, chemistry, life sciences, space, earth sciences, and even psychology and sociology, all available for hands-on experience. We played from 11 AM until past 4 PM when they closed, and the kids were still reluctant to leave.

We had a great day with our kids, ages 9 and 6. It was a weekday at the end of August, so the museum wasn't crowded, and we were able to see and do everything we wanted.
