Lovely hotel with fabulous views of the Lake. Our two rooms overlooked the Lake though we did not have balconies. The rooms were log cabin style and clean. Bathrooms were good. The porters and hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was explained clearly to us. They also explained our lake cruise+ropeway tickets to us since we could not understand what was written on them ;) Breakfast was decent. Good coffee. We did not have any other meals with them as the nearby market has plenty of interesting options. Would totally recommend a stay here.

Overall a decent place to stay in Sun Moon Lake. The location is superb with fantastic lake views (for those rooms with lake view), near to restaurants in Ita Thao and access to the pier and cycle track (and also the Cable Car station). Rooms are lovely inside but we found our room had bad carpet stains though daily cleaning was thorough. Breakfast was plentiful with great views but mainly catering for Taiwanese / Asian taste.

Tip: NO LIFT!! Highest floor is 3rd story. Stairs are steep. But bellboys can help with carrying luggage. Choose lvl 1 or 2 if u have huge baggage. Old hotel, but clean and well maintained. Breakfast was superb with splendid views. Try the Fried Cabbage Bun and Mrs Hong Burger... quite nice
