Ranjit - our driver / guide displayed high levels of hospitality. He showed us the Kek Lok Si Temple and Penang hill. He was very knowledgeable about the places and it’s history. The temple (Ultimate Happiness?) was gorgeous & so beautiful. Our group's guide 'Mr. Gshen' was so kind & tell us the history, culture & background enthusiastically. He drove us almost up to the temple whereas individual tourists had to walk up a long way. We were given express tickets for the train up to the Penang Hill with no waiting! Penang Hill gave us full panoramic view of Penang. I strongly recommend this tour inspite of a bit expensive choice.

It was an extraordinary experience with straightforward communication with the tour guide for pickup. The areas visited (Penang Hill with the funicular railway and the Kek Lok Si Temple) were impressive. Especially around the time of the New Year festival, the temple was decorated with many lanterns. There is so much to discover and see, you could spend a whole day there. It was simply great! On the way back, you can also be dropped off at a Hawker center for lunch instead of returning to the hotel hungry.

great adventure to tour round some key attractions in penang..one day would be enough but can always come back another day

Tour guide Ricky Ooi had been in close contact with me before I set off. The original itinerary specified a meeting at Long Cheng Hotel. He flexibly arranged to pick us up at our hotel in George Town, which made us feel at ease 👍🏻 and arrived at the hotel in advance. He introduced us to the precautions and items of the relevant itinerary, so that we arrived at Penang Hill as soon as possible and took the first cable car 🚡 and guided us to the best position in the car to enjoy the scenery along the way 👍🏻 Advance reminder of various attractions, the wonderful places made us dazzled 👍🏻 The most exciting thing was that under his guidance, I enjoyed a perfect sunrise for the first time in history 🌅 The red sun suddenly rose on the horizon, which was shocking 🤩 Because it had just rained the day before, the sky was extremely bright, showing golden clouds, even the people on the day shouted that they had never seen it before, and finally saw a rainbow 🌈 It is really a rare opportunity 🧚🏻‍♀️ The most fortunate thing is that we were able to bump into Vicky, who has more than 30 years of tour guide experience. His professionalism is impeccable. The angle of the story of each attraction is very good. He also took care of our needs and took us to the Siam Sisters Curry Noodle Shop, which has won Michelin for two consecutive years, for breakfast and tasted the taste of food 👍🏻 RICKY is very experienced in leading private tours. He knows that customers have their own preferences, so he arranged flexible time and introduced the characteristics of the market in detail first, gave us time to move freely, and also treated us to the local specialty fried bananas 🍌👍🏻 When we were finally sent back to the hotel, it was still before 3:00 pm. He used his previous status to help us successfully lobby the hotel to let us check in early 👍🏻 Next time I come to Penang, I must find Ricky as a private tour guide 👍🏻 He is really a five-star tour guide 🤩 I sincerely recommend it to everyone 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We arrived at 2:30 and were warmly received by a staff member who arranged for tour guide Eric to start the activity. Since we only purchased the guided tour program, the staff reminded us that we could add juice and fruit plate for an additional RM10 per person. Eric carefully explained the different kinds of fruits in the world, picked fresh fruits from the trees for us to taste and experience, and taught us how to choose the best fruits on the market. It was an eye-opener for us and we got to know many fruits we had never seen before. Finally, I couldn’t get a Grab at 17:00, so the staff helped me solve the problem. They close at 17:30, but it’s more expensive, but it’s better than staying on the mountain. It’s recommended to call a car as soon as possible after arriving, or participate in activities at an earlier time.

There should be a 10 option for rating because that is how great this tour is! The tour guide, CC, is very knowledgeable of Penang history, and he also shared more context on the different temples and Chinese associations in Penang. The tour itself allowed us to see the different cultures that have existed in Penang and how they live in harmony. The tour has given us a different perspective of Penang and how important it is to the trade routes back then and until today.

Mr. Ong is a very good tourist guide. He is well versed of the area and explains the history well. He also knows good places to thrive, dine and even walk for a tourist like us. Highly recommended guide.
