A very impressive museum where you can see and learn about how badly a war could change a peaceful city of Nagasaki and this world. Highly recommend to all visitors from all genders and ages.

The location is easy to find and the facilities are well maintained. There are Hong Kong staff, very nice! The dock and boat staff knew we didn't know Japanese and took the initiative to help!

I have always wanted to visit Gunkanjima. This is a rare opportunity to go to Nagasaki, so I must come and participate. Chinese instructions are provided in the itinerary, which I think is great and thoughtful! It's a pity that we can only stay on the island for a short time.

This time, the Nagasaki atomic bomb site and the Atomic Bomb Museum were the attractions that my father specifically designated to visit. The pain of historical stories cannot be erased, and in order to fulfill the expectations of our elders, our family went there together. For us, it was an exploration of history, and for the elders, it was a review of the pain of the past, which must be avoided from happening again at all costs. It was a very meaningful journey!

A very simple business hotel, but with many advantages. The location is very good, directly connected to the station. There are various restaurants, convenience stores and Starbucks nearby. The hotel's supplies are very useful, and the breakfast is in cooperation with the breakfast shop next door, which is very delicious. The room is simple, but the space is enough and it is comfortable to sleep.

Cultural and Historical Significance

Megane Bridge is a remarkable symbol of cultural exchange, constructed by a Chinese monk and standing resilient through the ages. It has survived significant floods in 1647 and 1982, and has been carefully restored to maintain its original charm. The bridge is a testament to the historical ties between Japan and China, reflecting the cultural exchange during Japan's period of national isolation. It played a crucial role in Nagasaki's development, serving as a vital trade route and connecting roads to important temples. The bridge was built under the guidance of a Chinese monk who later became the resident priest of the nearby Kofukuji Temple. Despite the damage from floodwaters in 1982, it has been restored using recovered stones, preserving its historical integrity.

Local Cuisine

While exploring the area around Megane Bridge, treat yourself to Nagasaki's culinary delights. Enjoy champon, a hearty noodle dish packed with flavor, and indulge in castella, a sweet sponge cake that offers a taste of the region's unique flavors.

Architectural Inspiration

The design of Megane Bridge has inspired other architectural marvels, such as the Double Bridge of the Imperial Palace. Its construction marked the beginning of a series of stone bridges along the Nakashima River, each with its own historical and cultural significance.
