Not too crowded on Saturday. We didn't make it in before 9:00 am. At first, we didn't know how to play, but the staff patiently explained. It was a lot of fun. I recommend going with children aged four and older. Book popular games in advance. There's a restaurant inside, and the food is delicious. We played from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Time flew by. We ended up playing six different professions.

Easy to redeem at Hakata Station. When I went to redeem it, I was only third in line, so I expected it to be quick. However, the first two foreigners took more than 40 minutes to complete their transactions, causing me to miss my intended train. The main purpose of the trip was to see the Saga International Balloon Fiesta and the Karatsu Kunchi Festival. I also had time to visit the underwater torii gate at Taiyo Shrine, and it happened to be low tide, so I could walk out quite far. At Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, you can see Kochia during this time, which is very beautiful.

It was hassle-free and I enjoyed it as a solo traveller. Jimmy was the best tour guide for this. He was organized and helpful.

Stayed at the Breakfast Hotel for 4 nights and had a great time. Location was excellent - in the nightlife district (which may not suit everyone but doesn't bother me), close to two metro stations and not far from the central train/bus station. Also walking distance from various districts of interest. Rooms were pretty comfortable. I could turn the temperature down quite a bit to help me sleep. Pillows were somewhat stiffer than I like but seems typical of Japanese hotels and the bedding was comfortable. Comfortable bathrobes were included with the rooms and changed along with towels each day. Bathrooms were also excellent and fairly large and I could crank the heat and pressure up in the shower. I didn't have breakfast included (which seemed expensive otherwise) but I got a free smoothie each day and there was a coffee machine for a complimentary cuppa if you needed it as well as a breakfast truck at the entrance discounted for guests. Nothing fancy but felt great would reco.

Everyone, this is the ultimate value for money~!!! You must try it, and guide Kim Hye-suk is really number one. She explains based on Japanese history, and it was so fun and informative. Our middle school son even said he wanted to go again the next day. Is this for real at this price? ^^ The weather was also awesome. Oh!!! I drew a great fortune at the shrine lol.

Fantastic experience, the pass allows you to board directly, you can get off at each station to experience the local atmosphere, and the bento box is delicious. I loved this trip.

During my trip to Northern Kyushu, I chose the Northern Kyushu JR Pass, and overall, I felt it was very worthwhile. Firstly, this pass covers many popular cities and attractions in the Northern Kyushu region, such as Yufuin, Beppu, Kumamoto, Saga, and Nagasaki, starting from Hakata. We used it for multiple long-distance trips (Shinkansen/Limited Express trains) during the day + switching between attractions. If we were to buy individual tickets for each segment, the accumulated transportation costs would actually be higher than the face value of the pass, so using this pass felt more cost-effective.

North Kyushu 5-day pass. There are fewer people exchanging at Kumamoto Station on weekday evenings. The counter is crowded during the day 🥲. Luckily, I stayed near the station, and I was able to exchange it smoothly at group 3 half an hour before closing. Bring your passport + JR PASS voucher barcode + (if you have additionally reserved a reserved seat online on the official website: also bring the credit card you used to pay at that time). The counter staff will give you the JR PASS and the reserved seat ticket that you reserved online together, so be sure to bring the credit card you used to pay for the reserved seat! Very important!!! Because most sightseeing trains are all reserved seating, in addition to the JR PASS, remember to reserve a reserved seat ticket first (you can reserve a seat for free on the machine with the North Kyushu JR PASS, up to 6 times). I hope everyone has a pleasant trip. 🤗♡
