We had a meaningful and well-organized tour of Ho Chi Minh City and the Cu Chi Tunnels with our guide, Patrick. He shared not just facts but also stories that gave us a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s history, especially the difficult years of the Vietnam War. Although the Independence Palace was closed during our visit, Patrick and his team quickly adjusted and brought us to the Ho Chi Minh Museum instead.
I strongly recommend including the Cu Chi Tunnels in this tour, it’s an eye-opening experience to see where Vietnamese people hid underground to survive and it gives you a deeper appreciation of resilience and life itself.
Only small room for improvement: the serving time of lunch at the local restaurant was a bit long. But overall, everything was well worth it. Just be ready. Some stories of the war can be heartbreaking, but they will leave you with respect, admiration, and gratitude for the Vietnamese people and their strength.
