    A Historic Reveal at Glorietta

Kathryn Bernardo with wax figure collage
Filipino supporters didn't have to wait until reaching Hong Kong shores to witness this stunning tribute. Last July 9, 2026, the grand Kathryn Bernardo Side-by-Side Wax Figure Launch took place at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City. The emotional event brought together Kathryn's family, ABS-CBN executives, close friends from the entertainment industry, and a massive crowd of ecstatic fans.
The reveal marked a historic milestone, solidifying Kathryn as the youngest Filipino icon to be immortalized by the world-famous wax museum.
"My wax figure is a reminder that big dreams are valid, and Filipino talent belongs on the global stage," Kathryn shared emotionally during the event. "Actually, this is not my milestone. It's our milestone because this wouldn't be possible if not for the fans."

    The Story Behind the Look

The Kath-twin perfectly recreates one of the most defining moments of Kathryn's international career: her appearance at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards in South Korea, where she won the Outstanding Asian Star honor.
The wax clone wears the exact original custom creation by renowned Filipino designer Martin Bautista. The elegant two-piece ensemble features a sleek white cropped top, a long matching skirt adorned with a subtle touch of silver fringe, and a dramatic, flowing cape that wraps around her neck. Complete with her signature sweet bun, wispy bangs, and radiant, glowing makeup, the likeness is so uncanny that Kathryn jokingly admitted it felt a bit "scary" to stand face-to-face with herself.

Meticulous Artistry: The Making of a "Twin"

The launch environment at Glorietta gave the public a rare look into the immense dedication required to bring the figure to life, highlighted by an educational exhibit detailing the painstaking creation process.
Kathryn revealed that the gravity of the honor didn’t truly sink in until she spent half a day with the expert creative and sculpting team from the United Kingdom back in August 2025. During this intensive sitting session, hundreds of precise measurements were taken to map out her facial structure, body proportions, and posture.
    The process requires absolute accuracy:
    • Color Matching: Hair, skin, and eye tones are meticulously matched against hundreds of samples under varying lights.
    • Sculpting & Moulding: Sculptors use clay to capture the star’s exact musculature and expressions before a plaster mould is cast.
    • Detailing: Real human hair strands are inserted one by one into the wax skull, followed by layers of specialized oil paints applied to replicate the natural translucent glow of human skin.

Home is Where the Heart Is: Visiting Hong Kong Starting July 17

For those eager to experience the Kath-twin alongside international superstars, the figure will be open for public viewing at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong beginning July 17, 2026.
Kathryn proudly joins the elite ranks of trailblazing Filipino icons featured in the attraction, including Miss Universe titleholders Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, multimedia superstar Anne Curtis, and theater icon Lea Salonga.
Hong Kong holds a very special place in Kathryn’s heart, serving as the backdrop for her record-breaking blockbuster film Hello, Love, Goodbye. She hopes her permanent presence at the museum will serve as a heartwarming piece of home for the large community of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and tourists visiting the city.
Be sure to document your moments and share the pride using the official campaign hashtag: #KathrynShinesAtMTHK.
