Here's to 9 (10? 11? 12?) long weeks in quarantine!

It's been a while since we've had a proper inuman session with friends and colleagues. But while we wait for updates on quarantine restrictions, e-numans will do for now. So if you were able to get a hold of some soju bottles before the liquor ban was put into place, here are some easy-to-make soju cocktails you can make!

1. Yogurt Soju (Yakult + Soju + Chilsung Cider)

A classic! Sure, Yakult might be known as a kids drink, but boy does it partner well with Soju. You can simply mix Yakult and Soju together, but the Koreans mix in what they call 'Chilsung Cider' (their version of Sprite) for the no-fail easy-to-make cocktail.
  • 50% Chilsung Cider or Sprite
  • 25% Yakult
  • 25% Soju

2. Pineapple Soju (Pineapple + Soju + Sprite)

Looking for a refreshing alcoholic beverage on a hot day? Grab some pineapple juice, Sprite and Soju and you're ready for your next e-numan! Make sure to pop in some ice cubes, too!
  • 50% Pineapple Juice
  • 30% Soju
  • 20% Sprite

3. Cojinganmek (Cola + Soju + Beer)

You might have heard of the somaek (soju + beer), but this one's an upgrade to try. Meet your new go-to mixture – cojinganmak! This concoction contains two different shots – soju and coke – stacked inside a cup of beer. The drink starts of with the taste of beer and soju, and ends with the refreshing sweetness of coke. Be careful – the sweetness of the coke disguises how potent this drink actually is!
  • 10% Shot of Coke
  • 10% Shot of Soju
  • 90% Cup of Beer

4. Ujjujju Melony (Melona + Soju + Chilsung Cider)

For a creamy kick, you only need to three ingredients. Melona is a popular ice-cream in Korea that can be found in many convenient stores. Simply pour a yourself a cup of soju with cider, and stir a Melona bar in until it dissolves. The Melona keeps your soju cold and turns your drink into a milkshake.
Melona comes in 4 different flavours: banana, honeydew, mango and strawberry. Pick your flavour and start stirring!
  • 1 Melona Bar
  • 60% Soju
  • 40% Chilsung Cider or Sprite

5. Enerzizer (Soju + Gatorade + Hot 6)

Need an energy boost to work-from-home through the night? The Soju-Gatorade-Hot 6 (Korea's Red Bull) combination will surely give you the boost you need.
  • 20% Soju
  • 40% Gatorade
  • 40% Hot 6 or Red Bull

6. Soju Coffee (Soju + Coffee)

Here’s Korea’s response to an Irish coffee! If the Enerzizer cocktail is too harsh for you, this might do the trick! A simple mixture of coffee and soju, Soju Coffee might just be your companion to last you through your day.
  • 80% Coffee (black works best)
  • 20% Soju

7. Korean Screwdriver (Orange Juice + Soju)

Adapted from your typical Screwdriver (orange juice + vodka), Koreans have put their spin on it by replacing the vodka with soju. You’ll be surprised by how much the taste changes because of this switch!
  • 80% Orange Juice
  • 20% Soju

8. Subak Soju (Watermelon Soju)

This drink is great for parties! Subak Soju is made from blending watermelon with soju and then using the remaining watermelon shell as a bowl to drink from. While it may take a little more effort to create, this combination is sure to impress your friends.
  • 1 Watermelon
  • 1 Bottle of Soju
  • 1 Cup of Ice

9. Grape gummy soju (soju + grape gummies)

  • 1 packet of grape gummies
  • 1 bottle of soju 
Pour the grape gummies into a cup and fill to the brim with soju. Let it sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving. 

10. Strawberry-Infused Soju

No wine for Sangria? No problem! Dice up your strawberries and lemon - or really, any fruit you have on hand - and place in a pitcher of soju. Add some sugar syrup and let it sit in the fridge overnight. Serve with ice and voila!

11. Soju Tea cocktail

Soju-infused tea? We like the sound of that! Simply brew a pot of your favorite tea (it's said to taste best with white or peach tea) and pour in lemon or any fruit of your choice. Add a shot of soju and mix!

12. Haribo-ju

Who else loves gummy bears? Grab a handful of your favourite gummy bears and soak them in a shot of soju!
