The country is more than just a tourist playground.

For a small country, Cambodia has a lot to offer. With large parts of the country unexplored, it’s fortunate that they’ve reopened their borders to foreign travelers. Now is the time to explore Cambodia’s fascinating tourist spots and appreciate its impressive architectural history and vibrant culture.
There are brilliant temples to be seen in Phnom Penh, great pottery and handmade crafts in the north-western province of Siem Reap, fascinating archaeological ruins, and laid-back beach towns. Although tourism is back in full swing, there are still some requirements you should be aware of when planning your Cambodia itinerary.

    Is Cambodia open to tourists?

Traveling to Cambodia for a vacation was impossible for almost 2 years due to the pandemic. Thankfully, the Cambodian government reopened its borders on November 15, 2021, which allows international travelers to enter regardless if they are vaccinated or not.

    What is Cambodia’s quarantine policy?

Tourists who are fully vaccinated may now visit Cambodia’s tourist spots without being quarantined. That means you should at least have two injections or a single shot of the Janssen vaccine. Do you need to take a COVID-19 test before departure?

Since the testing requirement was lifted last March 2022, travelers entering Cambodia do not need to be subject to a COVID-19 test. Just how you’re proof of vaccination and you’re good to go. However, unvaccinated visitors must undergo an antigen test upon arrival in Cambodia at their own expense.

When is the best time to visit Cambodia?

The country is generally hot and humid so any time of the year would be fine. But it’s ideal to visit Cambodia between November and May as they experience less rain and pleasant weather during these months. January through March would be the busiest but the most festive due to the new year celebrations. Plan your Cambodia itinerary accordingly.
