Our favourite beach destination will be reopening to travel to sooner than you think!
As far as travel during 2020 is concerned, we’ve just been hit with a bit of good news! Bali is in preparation to welcome foreign visitors back to the Island on 11 September, after months of a travel ban imposed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Being one of our favourite beach holiday destinations, we’re sure that many of you can’t wait to chill at beach clubs like Finns or explore the spectacular views at Nusa Penida!
To comply with the “new normal” policies, Bali Governor Wayan Koster has announced a three-step plan to reopen activities within the island. Activities at famous vacation spots around the island will be open to locals first on 9 July.
While Koster said on Thursday that he had closed tourist destinations on the island until further notice through a regulation, several regions still allowed foreign surfers access to popular beaches like Canggu Beach and Labuan Sait Beach in Badung regency.
Tourism in Bali has taken an extremely hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, when the number of foreign tourists arrivals fell close to zero in the weeks following Bali’s first reported coronavirus case.
*Note that the reopening date might be pushed forward or back depending on the number of cases reported after the island opens internally for its first stage.
