Puffing Billy Steam Train & Penguin Parade Full-Day Sightseeing

Going to Melbourne for a babymoon and we had a really magical experience with Loki our tour guide. He explained everything clearly, guide us through every places. The highlight of our trip was philip island penguin parade, it was one of the memorable experience to see the tinniest penguin coming back to their nest in real life. Would repeat it again with my baby girl in the near future for sure!

we had a great time with this pretty chill itenary. managed to really get an hour's ride on the puffing billy steam train and head straight down to Philip island to watch the penguine parade. we had plenty of time for lunch and dinner, best part there's no rush. a lil bit pricey for the tour but overall Mark our driver and guide was amazing. We also saw so many wild animals such as geese, wallaby, penguins and different types of birds along the way.

The ride on the Puffing Billy steam train was truly impressive! Sitting on the open carriage window sills, dangling our legs outside, and feeling the breeze while passing through lush green forests was such an exciting experience! The penguin parade was incredible! I was grateful to see around 60 penguins—on average, about 700 penguins come out to the island each day. Australian penguins are the little penguin and irresistibly cute! I was also delighted to see baby Cape Barren Geese; they are utterly adorable! Our tour guide is knowledgeable and cares for our basic needs such as going to the bathroom and having our meals during the day. I highly recommend wearing enough clothing because Philip Island is very windy.

Thanks our tour guide and driver Stuart. He is really kind and helpful. He always reminds us everything, even which toilet is cleaner. We have enough time to take photos and walk around each place. It is my first time to visit Australia with family. We are happy to have him to be our guide. However, i have something to remind you guys. It is highly recommended to have a great breakfast before you take on the travel bus. Your next meal would be around 5:30pm probably.

Experience a steam train ride like never before on a tour bus, and visit the incredibly cute penguins returning to their nests. Beautiful weather combined with beautiful scenery. Many thanks to our local Australian guide for sharing detailed stories and explanations about the attractions, and for their safe driving, which allowed us to have such a wonderful day.

I really like this route. It is a great experience to take the century-old steam train and be able to stick your arms and legs out of the window. Of course, watching penguins come ashore is also a highlight. The scenic spots along the way are also very beautiful. I also saw wild kangaroos, hedgehogs, grey geese, etc. I highly recommend it and it is definitely a must-do itinerary!

Departure was punctual at the meeting point. Although the train was delayed by an hour due to a fallen tree, our tour guide, Gina, provided clear instructions and ensured the delay didn't impact the itinerary. She thoughtfully took care of each member of the group and assisted with taking videos and photos. We enjoyed the beautiful sea views on Philip Island and arrived at the beach before dark to prepare for the penguin parade. The beach was a bit far from where the penguins return to their nests, making it difficult to fully appreciate them, but the boardwalk offered a closer view of the penguins and a clearer view of the stars. If you'd like to have more time to explore near the attractions, bring some snacks to eat on the bus. Overall, I was very satisfied with the trip!

finally did it!!! had been seeing great pics from socials and i cant believe i made it and was possible because of this tour. had the best view and great tour guide Peter.

Had an amazing day at Phillip Island and Puffing Billy. Our guide is very knowledgeable and helpful(forgot his name 🫠). He recommended Nat’s place where we ate the best fish and chips we ever had. Didn’t expect the penguins to be very tiny lol they are so cute!
