What to expect
❄️🌿 Starting from Asahiyama Zoo, explore the dreamy Blue Pond and Shirasu Waterfall, passing by Ken & Mary's Tree and Herb Garden, enjoying the Hokkaido hill scenery at Shikisai no Oka, and finally strolling through the fairytale-like Ningle Terrace for a one-day exploration trip that combines nature and healing.
- ❄️ Winter Itinerary (December to March): ① Starting from Asahiyama Zoo 🐧, with snow covering everything in winter, penguins waddling in the snow, mischievous raccoons peeking out, seals playing between glass pillars, and monkeys huddling together. Animals move in a relatively free environment, allowing visitors to observe and take photos up close, full of fun and healing. ② Ken & Mary’s Tree 🌲 (viewed from the car) still maintains its winter dreamlike charm. Passing by HERB GARDEN, you’ll receive a special Hokkaido drink to warm your body and mind. ③ In the afternoon at Shikisai no Oka, the snow-covered hills offer activities like snowmobiling and sledding, or you can stroll and admire the neatly arranged trees, guarding the snow scenery like sentinels. ④ Finally, arrive at Ningle Terrace (Special note: This attraction may be inaccessible in winter due to various irresistible factors. It has been confirmed that it will be inaccessible from January 4th to 11th, in which case this attraction will be changed to the Blue Pond♨) 🏡 for a stroll. The small wooden cabins sell unique handicrafts, and when the lights come on in the evening, it’s as romantic as a fairytale.
- 🌿 Regular Itinerary (April to November): ① Starting from Asahiyama Zoo 🐧, you can observe the interactions of penguins, seals, raccoons, and monkeys up close. ② Then head to the Blue Pond 💧, where the lake water is as blue as a dream, enchanting like a fairyland. ③ Next, visit Shirasu Waterfall 🌊, where water cascades down and rocks glow blue. In summer, it’s lush green, forming a contrast of seasonal scenery. Passing by HERB GARDEN, you’ll receive a drink. ④ In the afternoon, stroll through Ningle Terrace 🏡✨. The small wooden cabins sell unique handicrafts, and when the lights come on in the evening, it’s as romantic as a fairytale…
* Whether it's the cute animals and snowy hills in winter, or the azure lake and fairy tale town in spring and summer, each stop is full of imagery and Hokkaido's unique natural healing power 📸✨. The itinerary combines interaction, photography, leisure, and hot springs, allowing people to fully immerse themselves in the purity and dreaminess of Hokkaido.

Reviews
Escape the Sapporo chill with Klook's winter day trip, offering a blend of wildlife encounters and snow-dusted landscapes. Asahiyama Zoo's "Penguin Walk" takes center stage, alongside captivating exhibits of polar bears and seals. You'll also witness the ethereal Shirogane Blue Pond, its blue waters contrasting beautifully with the snowy surroundings (depending on ice conditions), and the Ken and Mary Tree, standing starkly against the winter sky. Be mindful that winter conditions can impact the schedule, so flexibility is key, and remember to bundle up for the Hokkaido cold!
Rita was an amazing tour guide. she was very knowledgeable and helpful before, during, and after the trip. thorough instruction given for meeting place prior to leaving. I definitely suggest arriving early as it does get busy in the meet up area. the tour itself was pleasant and enjoyable, well worth booking through Klook instead of adventuring off by ourselves. our particular day the road closed prior to heading up to the zoo but opened up before we got to the closure area. Rita was concerned for everyone’s safety and was looking out for everyone. it’s a full day and don’t plan for anything else that day except to grab din din after. we left at 0800 and due to slick roads we returned at 1910. I recommend attending this tour.
It was a very wonderful experience! Thank you to our guide, Ms. Rita for ensuring that we have a very good experience with this trip. We have arrived early in the meeting point and we were able to secure the front bus seats since we are 3pax. There is a heavy snow today but it didn’t hinder us to enjoy and play with the snow while touring around. This package is highly recommended and hopefully your guide will also be Ms. Rita as she has been an an excellent guide. ☺️
Lucy the guide was great. Very informative and ensured the group was on time . Going past the Ken and Mary tree seems pointless. The snowmobiling is a waste of money , the groups are too big, it is ok if you have never seen snow but there are much better options elsewhere. Overall a great day out, albeit very long
Rita our tour guide is excellent! she speaks 3 different languages and explain them in detail! sad part is there is no longer a tour to ningle terrace as mentioned on the tour package. other than that is all good.
We had a first class experience with Sophia. She is very accommodating throughout our trip and made sure that we have a pleasant time. She also explained about Japanese culture and gave us a brief introduction to Sapporo in general, on top of the places we visited. We are so lucky to have Sophia as our tour guide. Thank you so much, Sophia!!

This day trip from Asahikawa to Biei, Shikisai-no-oka, and Ningle Terrace was fantastic, with a well-organized and fulfilling itinerary. The scenery along the way was beautiful, and each stop had its own unique charm, making it well worth the trip. A special thank you to our day tour guide, Sophia. She was very professional, attentive, and responsible, leading us through the entire itinerary on time and smoothly. Her time management was excellent, ensuring that everyone neither felt rushed nor wasted any time. Her explanations were clear and easy to understand, and she thoughtfully reminded us of important points and photo spots, making the whole trip feel very reassuring. Sophia was friendly and approachable, and patiently assisted with any issues. She is truly a great guide who considers things from the tourist's perspective. This day trip was so smooth and enjoyable thanks to her thoughtful planning. I highly recommend this tour and strongly recommend Sophia as your guide!
the tour was well prepared and our tour guide miss Sophia is very approachable. She made sure we are safe all throughout the trip.
A very good day for us - sign in was organised chaos but every tour guide we met helpfully pointed us out to the right person; the day was clear and great for a bus ride over to the zoo where we were early to position and able to watch the penguin walk. Everyone that day followed time and off we went to the next few spots - Biei Lonely tree, the Blue Pond (frozen over ofc) and then Shikisai no Oka, Furano for an hour stop. Shoutout to Lucy for her informative guides of the area (in Chinese and English) and our driver for the safe and smooth drive to and from Sapporo! will definitely try to come back with this tour later in the year !
