Thousand Island Lake, Shifen, and Jiufen Day Tour With Hotel Pickup

The tour guide Mr Lin was very sociable and very helpful. We picked the wrong day but made the most of it out. it was raining a lot and couldn't quite see the island. We went to visit the tea garden and had a really nice high mountain tea. Juifen was buzzing despite the rain. unfortunately we never made it to the waterfall because the rain was too heavy. But if the weather was better this trip would have been very enjoyable.

Comfortable ride and smooth arrangements! The view at Thousand Islands is really good, Tour guide 林天送 is always willing to recommend good food along the way. Wish could have more time to spend at Jiufen, 90mins may not be sufficient.

A lovely tour, even though our guide only spoke Chinese. Our fellow travelers translated all the important information for us. The tour around the lake is significantly more beautiful than the one we did last year through the Geopark.

Thanks to Mr. Lin for setting up the car and explaining the itinerary. The pick-up and drop-off were on time and the explanation was clear. He gave us a pleasant day. The scenery of Qiandao Lake is beautiful, there are many delicious foods in Jiufen, the Shishi Waterfall is wonderful, and the sky lanterns are interesting and very happy.

Master Lin Tiansong is very nice and professional. Itinerary Qiandao Lake introduces the shape of different lakes. The itinerary to visit Qiandao Lake is more suitable for tourists who love to see the scenery and mountains. Jiufen can take a little longer. The Shifen Waterfall is very beautiful. The shop with the sky lanterns is very good. You can write slowly with the air-conditioning. After the sky lanterns are off, you can’t go to Shifen Old Street. You can sit in front of the shop and drink coffee and eat cakes. It’s a good choice

Great stories from Driver Mr Lin Tiansong. He has superb driving skill noticeable from his navigation up to 1000 island lake. He made the whole trip interesting from the stories he told and jokes he cracked.

The bus can't be reached, so it's a good idea to take a one-day tour with a private car. You can pick up and drop off directly at your accommodation. The driver and guide are very professional. They started introducing you along the way before you even arrived at the destination. Highly recommended.

Great tour to cover all places. Chinese speaking tour - but there were some non-Chinese speakers and I helped with the translations. The guide kind of expected me to help translate everything in the end which was a bit annoying. Jiufen Eats and Sights: - #魚丸伯仔魚丸店 : got the combo which included stuffed beancurd (2), fish balls and Tomyum Dongfen for TWD105 (aud5). Highly recommend the stuffed beancurd. The fish balls were just okay. - #金石工坊招財貓本鋪 for cute cat-themed souvenirs - #九份第一家臭豆腐 First Stinky Tofu store: crispy tofu TWD65 （nice) - #頼阿婆芋圆 Grandma Lai’s sweet taro balls TWD50: These were just okay; taro balls too soft and not chewy (can skip) - #阿蘭芋粿草仔粿: Each for TWD20. Saw a line and joined it. It's really good. Love the savoury radish and taro ones. Also bought red bean and savoury mung bean but didn't get to try this (first world problems: too much food) and now they're spoilt. Visited Shifen for the waterfalls and the Old Street. It is a spot which is known for its sky lanterns aka KongMing lanterns #孔明灯 . What most visitors do is write wishes on the lanterns (different colours and different wishes has a different pricing). I did not participate in this as it’s environmentally unfriendly. This goes against the widely-advertised environmental conscious campaign in Taipei about disposables in hotels: could not help think about these double standards. I ordered mango ice instead. 🙃 Would recommend this tour to cover all these places. Visited on a Monday to avoid the crowds. Note that there was a bit of a hike to get to the Crocodile Island Viewing Platform. There may also be pickpockets at crowded areas in Jiufen so best to keep backpacks in front.

We had a wonderful day in the Qiandao Lake area! Our guide and driver, Mr. Lin Tiansong, was incredibly thoughtful. Despite the narrow mountain roads, he made every effort to drive us to the viewing platform so that even members of our group with mobility issues could enjoy the beautiful scenery. He also helped each member of the group take beautiful photos and took us to a better location to release sky lanterns. The whole trip was full of warmth and laughter, making it a perfect experience for a family outing!

This time, I took advantage of the Korean Mid-Autumn Festival to go back to Taiwan to take my children and mother to participate in Brother Lin’s one-day tour of Qiandao Lake, Jiufen and Shifen Old Street. We saw many scenic spots along the way, and Brother Lin gave us enough time to take photos. The entire trip was time-controlled very well. Thank you Brother Lin ~ Happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
