The Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center, named after the traditional local area, is situated by the waterside of Hengshan Pond in Taoyuan. The main building is composed of five seal-shaped stones, combined with the imagery of an inkstone grinding ink. It embraces the pond and the shifting light and shadow throughout the day, reflecting a natural ink wash scene that harmonizes with its surroundings. The overall architecture has received numerous awards, including the Gold Award for “Best Planning and Design Category” at the 2018 National Excellent Construction Awards, the Grand Prize at the 2022 Taiwan Architecture Awards, the Gold Award at the 2022 Global Excellence in Construction Awards, the 2022 Good Design Award in Japan, and the 2022 Shopping Design Award, as well as the honor of being one of the top ten exhibition platforms.
