Daily Scenic Lake Taupō Cruise to Ngātoroirangi Māori Rock Carvings

Definitely a must-do when you are at Taupo. Besides the main show of seeing the Maori Rock Carving, there are also interesting things like feeding the flying ducks with crackers, fishing demonstration and having a nice blueberry muffin and coffee/tea on board.

An absolutely perfect experience! It's great for families to enjoy a boat ride and admire the scenery 🌊 The weather in late March was fantastic! The blue skies and white clouds made for beautiful photos! The boat offered complimentary coffee and tea, and alcoholic beverages were available for purchase 🍺🥂 The boat tour lasted an hour and a half. We saw carvings on the rock walls, and the crew even demonstrated trout fishing (though our group didn't catch any fish). There were fish dishes available to eat, and muffins were also provided. The entire trip was incredibly relaxing and fun. We saw some stunning scenery. I really loved this tour; the crew was very friendly, and it offered excellent value for money. You definitely have to try it!

Nice relaxing activity...the boat is mostly covered so it would be fine even on a rainy day or cold day. They don't crowd the boat so it was a comfortable ride.

I loved this boat cruise! the staff were lovely and friendly, unlimited tea and coffee refills, very knowledgable about the lake/surrounding area, enough time spent near the carvings that everybody could take photos and learn about the carvings too

We joined a midday trout fishing cruise on Lake Taupō to see the Māori Rock Carvings, and it was fantastic. Race patiently taught my child how to fish, and the captain’s commentary was great. The boys even got to touch the steering wheel and received a small certificate — such a lovely touch! Highly recommended for families with kids aged 5–12.

A simple and relaxing boat trip experience. There are simple hot drinks on the boat. The service staff is great. The captain is very enthusiastic and the introduction is very serious. He also let us experience the feeling of steering the boat!

Loved the geothermal walk some very interesting boiling hot pools and felt very pampered and refreshed after the mud spa and sulfur spa
