Okinawa Mangrove Kayaking 2-Hour Tour with Photos

Wonderful experience, it had been raining and was cloudy. We were provided with rain ponchos. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared about the area and environment. We saw birds and hermit crabs. Guide was great with answering g our questions. Recommend this experience with this organization.

We had a very satisfying experience! 🥳 A big thank you to our canoe guide, Musashi-san, for patiently explaining how to paddle, introducing us to the mangrove ecosystem, the trees, and the unique mudskippers and small crabs of the Hija River. 🙇‍♀️ *A little tip: Remember to wear quick-drying shorts when you come here, otherwise you'll get wet!* We had booked the 11 AM activity. When we arrived early, the staff used English flashcards to remind us to bring towels and valuables (if you forget a towel, you can buy one for 400 yen). Afterward, he prepared slippers and paddles for us. We first learned how to paddle forward and in different directions together on the shore before getting into the canoe. We followed the guide throughout the entire journey, exploring the Hija River mangrove ecosystem. If we encountered any difficulties along the way, the guide was happy to help and answer our questions. 😉✨ We'd love to come back again! 🧡🙋🏻‍♀️ We also highly recommend this to other tourists.

My first time kayaking. The guide was very friendly and his instructions were all easy to understand. He also pointed out local flora and and fauna, which I really appreciate. Very highly recommended!

This is a leisurely canoe trip. The tour guide will take us through the mangroves. The tour guide is very careful to find small creatures in the forest to show us. I think it is worth it.

The directions on where to go and how to park were great. I wish the staff spoke more English. The tour was slow on the water. We would have enjoyed being able to just kayak and actually move on the water, but the tour was a bit slow paced. This was a good tour that was worth doing once overall.

this was fun! suitable as a family activity. despite limited English communication, the briefing prior to the activity was clear. the gear and equipment were well-maintained. most of the tour was conducted in Japanese, but the guide does explain some parts in English, which my mum and I appreciated. we were able to spot some mudslippers and mini crabs by the mangrove. the guide took some nice pictures of us (about 3 or 4 photos) and sent them via Instagram DM after the activity. if you’re driving, there is ample parking (free) on premises. overall this is an easy and relaxing activity I’d recommend trying if you can.

The guide was very knowledgeable, fun and very satisfying! Kayak back and forth while observing mangroves and creatures along the Hija River. During kayaking, a guide picks up Kandelia obovata (a type of mangrove) that has failed to land on the soil and raises it at home. It has grown to this point in 4 months with beach sand and tap water. I recommend it because it makes me happy to feel Okinawa every day even after I come back. I went by car, but the location of the store was easy to understand, so I could go without hesitation. The parking lot is in front of the shop. It is easy to cancel a tour of a remote island depending on the wind, but it was good to be able to participate in kayaking even if the wind is relatively strong.

Yaito San was so nice, young man with tbe great spirit and very friendly.. kayak tells us many new things, we learn about the trees, the animals, the water and even the history. we're surely comeback again!!
