Chen Clan Academy, also known as Chen Clan Ancestral Hall (60-minute in-depth guided tour; exterior view only on Tuesdays when closed), is located in Liwan District, Guangzhou. Built with funds raised by Chen clansmen from various places in Guangdong during the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1888–1894), it is a lineage academy for the entire clan, historically serving as a place for Chen descendants to stay when taking imperial examinations, worship ancestors, and study.
