What to expect

Discover the wonders of the universe at Star Safari, an award-winning observatory in the heart of the Wairarapa Dark Sky Reserve. Guided by expert astrophysicists, you’ll journey through New Zealand's darkest skies using telescopes that are some of the most powerful in New Zealand, giving exceptional views of the Milky Way, star clusters, nebulae, planets, and the Moon. Perfect for families and science lovers, this 90-minute experience is "weather-proof"—if clouds roll in, dive into an immersive VR experience with modern planetarium software as you learn about astrobiology and space exploration. Definitely a must-do Wellington-region adventure you won't want to miss
