Socks are required, as this is proper etiquette in tatami rooms and helps protect the tatami mats, which are made from natural materials.

It was a really fun experience! ようこさん(youko) was really great she explained everything really well and taught us some Japanese phrases to use in tea ceremonies! She taught use the meanings of a lot of things that i didn’t understand before so im very happy! I really recommend this place !
If you want to learn about Japanese culture and immerse yourself in it at the same time, this is the perfect place. The rooms are lovingly decorated and perfectly coordinated. Kioko was our master on this day. She gave us insight into Japanese holidays and culture, as well as tea cultivation and production. She also showed us the different types of green tea. The ceremony was beautifully designed. My brother and I can wholeheartedly recommend this activity.
