What to expect
Experience the traditional Japanese art of bonsai in a hands-on workshop led by a professional master artist in Tokyo. Held at a professional Bonsai Museum, this session introduces the basics of bonsai, including pruning, shaping, and design principles, while explaining the cultural philosophy behind this “living art.” Instruction is available in English or Chinese, and beginners are welcome. All tools and materials are provided. Please note that due to international regulations on soil and live plants, the bonsai created during the workshop will remain at the museum for proper ongoing care.

Reviews
It was so fun making bonsai 🌿 We paid an extra 3000 yen to bring our bonsai home. The workshop itself was such a great experience, but the Bonsai Museum was truly incredible too. Seeing 1,200-year-old bonsai trees and enjoying the beautiful Japanese aesthetic was amazing 🤩 Use my code HELLOIMNGKLOOK for a discount when booking 😊
This was an actually unique experience. It is a peaceful place, so unique and so many things to explore that its target audience can spend hours in. It provokes such awe. It was an important encounter and I will treasure it. Do try to get the bonsai workshop too and not only the admission if you have the time. We did ours with Ben, and we are very thankful for his time, knowledge and companionship. There are books on site, and master Kobayashi takes the time to personally sign them. I recommend the Bonsai Guide. Everyone involved is thoughtful and kind to the guests. Please make sure you respect the place too.
leaning about bonsai, the apprenticeship to become a master bonsai artist, and exploring the garden was well worth the time
A fantastic experience! The 1200-year-old bonsai trees were particularly stunning! There was a staff member from Taiwan, so there were no language issues, and he was very enthusiastic! 👌
