Reviews
I really enjoyed taking Gayageum lessons with my teacher, Kim Hyun Soo. She was very patient, knowledgeable, and easy-going. It made me even more interested in learning deeply. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to experience Gayageum.
I recently took the Gayageum class with Teacher Da-eun and was fortunate to have a 1x1 class. I have a background in music and traditional zithers (Vietnamese/Japanese), so I was really happy to find that K-Harmony offered this class. The K-Harmony building is in a very convenient location near Itaewon station and was easy to find. Teacher Da-eun taught me Arirang at first, and given my previous experience, she kindly extended the program to teach me Jindo Arirang as well. She was very talented and well versed in her techniques. We were able to communicate effectively, with translation apps filling in more complex concepts. The class concluded with a photo session in the school's beautiful selection of hanbok, as well as a video recording of my progress that will be a cherished memory. Thank you to Teacher Da-Eun and K-Harmony for this wonderful experience!
Hee-Joo was a wonderful teacher! I am a musician already and she adapted to my skill level. She was flexible and patience. it was a great experience, and I learned a lot about the instrument.
The location was close to Itaewon Station, and for the trial lesson, I could choose between English or Korean. Since I had the chance, I opted for Korean. It was my first time playing the gayageum, but the instructor taught me slowly and carefully, so by the end of the lesson, I was able to play a simple song. Playing the gayageum while wearing a hanbok was a wonderful experience that I couldn't have had in Japan! I want to go again.
I had so much fun learning from Hyoju today! She was super friendly and patient as it was my first time learning any instrument - would really recommend :))
