Mutianyu Great Wall + Summer Palace 1-Day Tour

Our tour guide Michael was very accommodating and knowledgeable! The Mutianyu Great Wall is well worth the visit! Our family took both the cable car round trip and the chair lift and toboggan to see different stations. What a wonderful experience!

The tour was great. They will arranged a bus to pick you up and take you to Great Wall. You had your time alone there to explore,lunch. Very chill for me. Booking the tour was easy and great value for money. Mimi, our first guide, took us to the Great Wall of China. Thank you for all your explanations and your friendliness. Then, for the tour of the Summer Palace, we were accompanied by Wendy, who was really very friendly, incredibly dedicated and gave us loads of information. I had a great experience with our guide, Tina. She was very informative and helpful throughout the trip. I visited during the long weekend for Qing Ming, so the traffic was quite heavy. She proactively informed us that the queue for the chairlift would be very long, and based on her advice, I switched to the cable car instead. It was definitely the right choice, as we reached the top of the mountain in less than 30 minutes. Since I arrived late and had also booked a tour to the Summer Palace with a departure time of 12:45 PM, she was very understanding and kindly helped to arrange a later bus for me. This allowed me to fully enjoy my hike without feeling rushed. Although the trip to the Summer Palace was a one-way transfer and I had to arrange my own transportation back, I truly appreciate their flexibility and support. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

Reaching and stepping on the great wall was a fascinating experience for me and my brother. Flower was the guide and entertained us during the journey to the great wall. I opted for the lunch which serve hot Chinese food. We did not take any add on for the cable car nor speed chute initially. We decided to take the cable car up to point 14 and walk about 4km to point 6 when we are about to reach the great wall. We reached point 4 and took the speed chute down. both will cost cny200 in total. Flower also advised us to leave early to avoid jam and queues which is great for us. Thank you Flower.

trip to the Mutianyu great wall led by Donna was a great experience. Donna is very responsible, gives clear explanation and instruction to navigate around despite the crowd. second part in the summer palace led by Wendy was so wonderful. she always has a warm smile on her face, explanations are detailed. Frist balf of the day: Michael picked us up on the previously arranged location,no delays. During the bus ride he shared a lot of useful info, we got to know the wall a bit more. If you haven't decided which route to do on the wall he'll help you with that as well (we choose the chairlift up- toboggan down on the east side [140 yuan], and had the time to go up with the chairlift to the top and then back the same way on the west side [140 yuan].) Second half of the day: Wendy was also a lovely guide. Took us around the Summer palace just in time to catch the sunset as well. Altogether both guides were very helpful and friendly. If you only have. a short time in Beijing it's a good way to explore both sights. However if you have a bit more time I would recommend spending more time at both. It was enjoyable but there was no time to slow-Walk, or "get lost in the palace". For us who has a shorter time kn Beijing it was very ideal!

Our guide, Richard, was excellent. He shared so many fascinating details about Chinese history, culture, and the significance of the places we visited. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the tour even more special and engaging. He was also very friendly, patient, and happy to answer all our questions. Our time on the Great Wall was truly unforgettable – walking along such an iconic and historic place was an incredible experience. The Summer Palace was equally beautiful and impressive, with its stunning architecture and peaceful atmosphere. We truly enjoyed every moment of this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing. We can’t wait to come back and do another tour in the future!
