Depart from Fukuoka and easily explore popular attractions in Kyushu!

First Stop: Nyoirin-ji Temple

A thousand-year-old ancient temple hidden in the mountains, home to over 5,000 frog statues with various expressions, symbolizing "safe return." With towering ancient trees and serene Zen, it's a place to pray, make wishes, experience Japanese Buddhist culture, and heal your soul away from the hustle and bustle.

Second Stop: Mount Yufu Trailhead

Unlock "Bungo Fuji" Mount Yufu, a conical volcano with a stunning silhouette at an altitude of 1584 meters. The trailhead path is gentle, making it easy for beginners to hike, breathe in the fresh mountain air, gaze at the Kuju mountain range and Beppu Bay scenery, and embrace the wild fun of nature.

Third Stop: Yufuin / Lake Kinrin

Yufuin, surrounded by mountains, is a popular hot spring town in Kyushu. The lakeside of Lake Kinrin is often shrouded in morning mist, like a fairyland; Yunotsubo Street is lined with cafes, wagashi shops, and general stores. We recommend trying pudding or milk ice cream and taking photos by the lake or on the stone paths.

Fourth Stop: Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) (Admission Ticket Included)

One of Beppu's eight hells, famous for its azure boiling spring water, shrouded in mist, like a mythical world. Although the stay is only 30 minutes, it is enough to feel the shocking power of geothermal heat. It is recommended to take photos in the panoramic area of the spring, where the blue hot spring and white steam intertwine for the most stunning effect.

Fifth Stop: Kamado Jigoku (Cooking Pot Hell) (Admission Ticket Included)

Beppu Hell's "miniature museum," a garden with 6 unique spring pools, whose water changes color with the light. You can experience drinking hot spring water, steaming your face with hot spring steam, and tasting hot spring boiled eggs and hell-steamed dishes, full of interactivity and fun.

Yufuin's hot spring ryokans are extremely popular. It is recommended to photograph the exterior of the bathhouse or take a group photo in front of the ryokan to record your relaxing time.

Review for: Beppu Relaxing Slow Travel One-Day Tour

The guide (Nicole) is very informative and shares many tips and travel ideas which is great. The onsen/sand bath was too short though. Recommend to just choose the onsen due to limited time. Overall, good day trip.
