What to expect
- The Golden Dragon Parade on Yulong Bridge in Guilin Yangshuo is a unique folk culture and tourism activity. Here is a detailed introduction:
- Origin and Development: This activity was initiated by the villagers of Yulong Village and can be traced back to the first Yulong River Rafting Festival in 2014. The local area has always had a "dragon parade" custom, where giant dragons parade on the Yulong River during important festivals such as the Spring Festival and Dragon Boat Festival. In September 2024, with the support of the Yangshuo County Party Committee and County Government, the "Golden Dragon Parade" project, managed by Baisha Town Guanghexing Village Construction Investment Co., Ltd., officially began operations, becoming a shining symbol of Yangshuo.
- Activity Features: The Golden Dragon Parade usually consists of dozens of bamboo rafts connected together, with the dragon body extending nearly a thousand meters. As night falls, the "Golden Dragon", adorned with lights, winds its way along the Yulong River, complementing the surrounding karst landscape, creating a dreamlike and ethereal scene. At the same time, there may also be fireworks displays, cormorant fishing performances, and Liu Sanjie folk song performances, creating a rich folk cultural atmosphere. Before the activity begins, there is a Golden Dragon Blessing Area by Yulong Bridge, where tourists can receive blessing ribbons and incense to pray for themselves or their relatives and friends.
- Performance Information: Generally starts at 6:30 PM every night, lasting about 1 hour. The specific time will be adjusted according to the season and weather. Reservations close at 12:00 PM on the same day. Ticket exchange times are 9:00 AM-12:00 PM and 2:30 PM-5:50 PM. Boarding and ticket checking time is 6:00 PM-6:20 PM. In principle, the Golden Dragon Parade will commence if there are 50 rafts of tourists. If the parade cannot proceed due to weather conditions, tourists will be notified in advance and ticket fees will be refunded in full.
- Experience Method: Tourists can ride the Golden Dragon bamboo raft to experience the night scenery of the Yulong River up close and follow the “Golden Dragon” on its parade; they can also watch from Yulong Bridge, overlooking the entire parade scene and taking in the “Golden Dragon” and the beautiful landscape. Each product in the booking project is a double experience project. If two people play together, only 1 booking is required. However, if a single person wants to play, 1 booking must also be made.
